Empty the tank of the tainted gasoline (Maybe add the right amount of oil and use it for a trimmer, etc), fill tank with fresh gas and clean the spark plug, since it is probably fouled out. You may have to clean the carb with some carb cleaner, and clean your plug a few extra times, but it should be fine. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Was using my toro lawn mower when big clouds of white smoke started to come out of it. I put oil in the oil tank and it started to pour out the air filter. How is that? Now it won't start at all.

You have big problems my friend! You have blown a head gasket, or broke the rings around the piston. The gasket isn't as bad as the rings. But neither is a good sign. It may be time to get a new mower; sorry for the bad news..... :-(

Lots of smoke and oil comming out the exaust . only 1 and a half year old

Has fuel with oil accidentally been mixed to the fuel for this mower? We have had mix oil accident get added it to this lawn mower and it will smoke a lot with 2 cycle oil.

Unless you are certain no oil is mixed with the fuel I would drain and clean the fuel system.
Replaced the spark plug with the new and replace the air filter In addition ensure you do and oil change every 30 hours using a high grade 30 wt oil to include make sure it is not over full.

Hope this tip helps.

Billows of white smoke when Toro lawn mower runs

You overfilled the oil. If the mower runs, just go ahead and mow grass until it runs the oil out of the gas tank. Or you can empty the gas tank and fill with new gas. White smoke is not a serious problem. Only a hassle.

Oil causing a problem?

Sound as if you have too much oil in the machine. Anytime you see white or lite gray smoke it is a sign of too much oil. Before you go through the routine of cleaning the oil out of every nook and cranny, try unscrewing the spark plug and clean it with a soft rag. It would have oil on it preventing the machine from starting. If this does work and there isn't a lot of oil in the gas tank now, just continue running the engine until the smoke clears. It won't hurt anything. But if cleaning the plug doesn't help you will have to empty all gas and oil from the gas tank, refill with new gas, squirt a little gum out carb cleaner in your carb to remove any oil there (this can be done when you try to restart the engine). Remember, when you are mowing grass if you are mowing on a hill) of any knd, make sure to turn the mower so the gas tank is on a higher level than the oil.

Can't start it up - no instructions

Steps
  1. Make sure you have enough motor oil in your mower. Usually there is a cap on top of the mower body, smaller than the gas cap, that says "oil" or something similar. The cap will probably have an oil gauge attached, so check the oil as you would in a car, that is, judge the level of oil on the gauge against the depth of the reservoir (the length of the gauge).
  2. Make sure you have enough gasoline. There should be a clearly labeled cap on the gas tank. If you open it, you should be able to look down into the tank and see the approximate level. Add more (preferably using a funnel) if needed.
  3. Locate the prime button, usually red or black, a squishy button somewhere on the mower's body. Push it between 3 and 8 times in order to force the gasoline into the lines.
  4. You may need to pull and hold a starting lever (a safety feature), or the lawnmower will not start no matter what you do.
  5. Brace your arm holding the starting lever, and pull upward on the pull cord, which you should find on top of the mower body. You may have to do this several times before the motor starts up.
  6. If you are still unable to get your mower started, try the lawnmower inspection and troubleshooting steps at http://www.wikihow.com/Repair-a-Lawnmower.
