Question about Apple iPhone 3G

Iphone 3G blutooth microphone volume extremely low

I have received numerous complaints from people I talk with on my Iphone 3G using a variety of bluetooth headsets/speakerphones. I have jailbroken the phone on 2.21 and 3.0 and find the same exact experience. Previously my bluetooth units worked fine with the Blackberry Curve, Blackberry Pearl, Windows MDA and other phones.

Is there a setting or program for the Iphone to increase microphone or input volume? This prevents me from using my hands free devices in the car or on the motorcycle with the Iphone.

My receiver on my Iphone is low how can i increase the volume mind you the volume is at max

Hello,
If the receiver is that low (and the volume level is at max) there may be a hardware issue related to the internal receiver. The piece is replaceable, but must be serviced by Apple or have your iPhone replaced by AT&T (if under warranty).
In some models of iPhones, this was a known issue that would occur through normal wear & tear. An easy way to tell if it is a hardware issue is to pair your iPhone with a bluetooth headset. While keeping the volume level at max, is it louder or the same as the iPhone's built-in receiver?
If it is louder, than chances are pretty good that the internet receiver needs replacing. If not, then you may have a software issue affecting the sound levels. Try rebooting your iPhone as this tends to "fix" a great many issues affecting iPhones. If that doesn't solve it, perform a sync to backup data, next update or restore your iPhone and then perform the test again.

LOW VOLUME TO HIGH VOLUME

Is this for a specific ringtone or all ringtones on the phones?
Certain versions of the iPhone firmware have an issue where the volume keeps decreasing. Try this to fix -
1. Press the sleep button on top of the phone
2. Now press the home or sleep button so you see the "lock screen (the screen with the wallpaper that has the unlock slider)
3. Double click the home button and the ipod controls should come up on the screen.
4. The volume is probably set at the half way mark...set the volume to full.

See this fixes your problem?

3G bluetooth echo and voice break

This problem doesn''t deal anything with your iPhone 3G. This could be a headset issue. I have tried connecting different Bluetooth headset to my iPhone 3G and I experienced the same problem using the Bluetooth headset of my friend.

To isolate this, please try the steps below:

- Try to disconnect/reconnect the headset via Bluetooth.

- Decrease the volume of your headset while making a call.

- Try to connect the headset using different profile. (for example, you connected your hadset using the headset profile, next try to connect the headset using handsfree profile to see if you will get the same problem)..

- Try using different Bluetooth headset to see if there's a problem only with your phone or with the headset
