Question about Washing Machines
I was advised that my water pump on my washer was bad/leaking. This confirmed my suspicions - unfortunately.
Can anyone lead me down the road to replacing it myself, i.e. online manual or simple instructions?
Also, how do I determine which water pump I need to buy for replacement? My washer is a Kirkland Signature Washer made by whirlpool if that helps - pretty basic unit. I have had it for 5-6 yrears now.
Thanks to Montgomeree for previous advice.
Is this a top loader? If so, these instructions should work for you since this is a Whirpool manufactured washer:
Replacement pumps can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com or appliancepartspros.com. Both sites offer excellent illustrations and competitive prices, so shop both for the best price. The pump is listed under the heading for the Pump/Motor/Gearcase. Just use the model number off your washer for your search criteria.
This is a fairly simple repair, but if you have questions along the way, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
PS If my instructions aren't accurate, or if this is not a top loader, please post back with your model number so that I may be able to determine how your washer is contructed.
