Can't replace printer cardridge on Epsom TX100

I am trying to replace the black ink cartridge on my Epsom TX100. I went to Officeworks and they told me to hold down little button on function menu on top of the printer and the cartridges would slide out and I could replace it. On doing this the whole thing just slides side to side but does not stop so I can replace it! I tried to stop it manually but it would not do so and I do not want to damage it. Could someone please help me? Thanks so much. :-)

I had to unplug the power, plug it back in, press the stop button, and unplug it again as soon as the cartridges temporarily stopped in the right location. Not elegant, but it worked.

I can't really claim this as my own suggestion as this guide
http://borneotip.blogspot.com/2009/05/replacing-expson-tx100-ink-cartridges.html
... really does provide all the information you could ever need and more.

The key part you need is about a third of the way down and involves using the status monitor > Maintenance tab to get to the "Ink Cartridge replacement" function.

Credit to the original author on that score and hope it helps.

I have an Epsom TX100, it has run out of black ink. I have replaced it with a 91N cartridge, but it is saying it is not compatible.

Hi leona_sha321,

TX100 doesn't use 91N ink cartridges that was why it is saying that it is not compatible. below are the list of inks for your TX100

T0731 73N - black
T0732 73N - cyan
T0733 73N - magenta
T0734 73N - yellow

Thank you. hope this helps

Replacement ink cartridge needs to be installed. Cannot locate cartridge housing.

These instructions are for color or black cardridges. Turn on the printer by pressing the power button. Flip down the front access door by grasping it on the upper right corner (just under the scanning bed) and pulling it down toward you. the cardridges will automaticly move to the right give you access to them. Press down on the top of the ink cartridge. This will release the cartridge. Slide it forward and out of the machine. Peel off the cover from the ink cardridge. This is a pink piece of plastic /tape like lift-off tab. Lift it up and off the cartridge.

Put the new cartridge inside of your Officejet J4580 by inserting it, label facing upward, into the open slot. Press it back into the unit and down lightly. You will hear it click into place. Close the access door. Wait for the alignment process to complete that will most likely require you to print a alignment page and place it in the scanner bed then press "OK".

I think thats about it

I've just replaced the black ink cartridge for my Epson Stylus TX100, ink level is ok as the indicator shows. But i get blank prints for black, other colors are fine. What's wrong with the black ink...

There is nothing wrong with the black ink. Just run the head cleaning for better printing.

1. Go to printer and faxes
2. Right click your printer ( Epson Stylus Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner InkJet)
3. Click printing preferences
4. Click Maintenance Tab
5. Click Head Cleaning
6. Run head cleaning for 5 times then try printing.

Ink cardridge replacement

Try cleaning the print heads (that option should be on your printer's menu). It does use up some ink, but in my experience with Epson printers, it needs to be done way too often. If that doesn't work, try another new black ink cartridge. I just had the same problem with an HP printer that was fixed by using another new cartridge.

Printing in just black and white

Epson,. has it rigged, that you must have ink in all the cartridges.............! Doesnt make a difference, if you are printing black and white ONLY.

You have to replace them.

Good Luck......

Empty colour cardridge, cant print black and white

Hi!

I'm afraid that most printers nowadays simply refuse to print unless you have ink in BOTH cartridges. No workaround. At least with an
Epson you have the possiblily of buying much less expensive generic refills...If you do this always try and find reviews of the brand of refills...caveat emptor! (buyer beware)

Sorry..

Epsom Rx620 states use originals for ink cartridges

Try to hold down both 'stop' and 'B&W' button when you press the 'on' button to start the printer machine. This should erase the error message and let you print.

Does the printer attempt to print? Did you replace the black or colored ink? If it was the black ink will it print in color?
If it prints in color, check the black ink cartridge for tape residue on the gold contacts. The blue tape will sometimes leave the adhesive on the cartridge and not the tape. It cleans off easy with a soft cloth.
