Sounds like you have an issue with your PCI bus. Easiest fix is to buy a new motherboard. For a socket 478, hands down the best motherboard you can get is the IC7 from abit. I had a P4E prescott on an IC7 and it was faster than anything until the core2 duos came out. Abit only uses solid gold capacitors and Ive never heard of a bad review of them. They have an IC7-G which gives faster LAN speeds but if your only on DSL or Cable you won't notice the difference. Of course there are other models out there, the only thing I will tell you is to stay away from the VIA chipsets for the 478 sockets. They had a bunch of issues and will corrupt your data.

Here is a link to an IC7 motherboard for sale.

I want to be know what is compatible with AOpen s651m motherboard. i'm kind of an ammature, so please help.

AOpen S651M motherboard:

1) Processor Support:

Uses Intel processors that fit in a Socket 478 processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_478

The Processor has the contact pins (478 of them), and the processor socket has the socket holes. (478)

The Maximum FSB supported for the processor is 533MHz.
(Front Side Bus, 533MegaHertz)

Processors supported;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pentium_4_processors#Northwood_.28130.C2.A0nm.29

Start with the Northwood Core models shown in the link above.
The ones that have a Front Side Bus of 533MT/s, and fit in a Socket 478.

The few shown in the next chart, Prescott (90nm), may not work. The voltage requirement.

2) Ram Memory Support:

DDR Sdram that operates at 333MegaHertz, or commonly known as PC2700.

TOTAL Maximum Amount is 2GB.
There are two ram memory slots. The Maximum Amount for EACH ram memory slot is 1GB.

If you only have one ram memory module ('Stick') place it in Slot 1. (DIMM 1)
This is the ram memory slot that is closest to the Processor.

[ The Processor 'sees' ram memory Slot 1 first ]

Graphics Card Support:

The graphics expansion slot on the motherboard is an AGP slot. (Advanced Graphics Port)
It uses the AGP 4X technology.

Above the 3 white PCI slots is the brown AGP slot.
Use AGP 4X/8X graphics cards.
(These types of AGP graphics cards can be used in an AGP 4X slot, or an AGP 8X slot)

Example of a AGP 4X/8X graphics card,

Latest bios update and drivers for Soltek SL-85DR3-C rev:A3 silver PCB

SOLTEK has gone bankrupt.
Their web-site is "down".
So, there is *NO* "support" available from SOLTEK.

I am not a lawyer, but since DRIVER GUIDE is offering a service for a fee, it probably is legal for them to charge a fee.

check your display card. it seems to be faulty.
If its onboard then use any PCI display card and try to boot. If its booting up then its confirm your onboard display got damaged.
Other than check settings in BIOS if there is any setting for VGA/VGA etc..

thanks

Soltek SL-86SPE-L and 512MB 400MHz memory cards

If I could find your manual, I would bet that your memory should be CL2 or a max of CL2.5 which is the core voltage of the memory.

A lot of places do not show the CAS or CL voltage, rather they make you look for it. Thats just wrong.

Radeon 9800 freezes the screen

assuming you have done a recent spyware and antivirus scan incase of any trojans or worms running in the background taking up processor usage, you may have a driver problem, especially if you have recently fitted another graphics card and left the old card driver installed, you should uninstall the old driver before fitting the card and installing the new driver. take the side off your pc and make sure also that the heatsink fan on your processor is not clogged with dust and ensure there is plenty of air ventillation allowed by checking ide cables arent restricting the flow especially near the graphics card incase the card is overheating. to give a clue to the problem if it is software driver related go to control panel>administrative tools>event viewer, then in the left hand column look on the applications line and system line and see if there are any red crosses or exclamatiomn marks relating to what you wer doing or running at the time.
