If you have the option of going to a command prompt (on the choose how to start "text" screen), do it, and type at the C:> fdisk /mbr then press the ENTER key. This may fix things. Also, try removing the battery when the computer is off, wait about a minute, then replace it and start computer. This actually helps sometimes.

You have a corrupt Windows system configuration/registry. Someone else chime in if there is hope, but my only solution (given it won't start up in safe mode) is to wipe and reinstall.

Good day sir/ma'am hope i can help you with your dilema. the loop is caused by either a bad memory, poor windows installation, or a deffective power supply. but let's do what we can. Of all my years in computers, i find it much easy to reinstall the windows OS. saves me alot of headaches. hear are the steps, 1. if you have important files on your hard drive, back it up. you can use external hard disk enclosure to help you back up your hard drive. if there are no important files, you may start formatting the laptop. 2. if your laptop has no CD drive, use a USB XP boot disk. 3. if no usb boot disk try external Dvd/CD drive. 4. load your program files such as office. 5. reinstall your important files. your done. one more thing make sure your files are not infected by viruses. hope this helps. if you have any more questions feel free to ask me again. thanks

Acer laptop stuck on Windows boot manager

1. Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time.
2. During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup."

3. Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears.
If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2.

4. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard.

5. Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection.
The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again.

ACER laptop continuously runs check disk c: in a loop. It will not boot up XP Windows

Try booting in safe mode (press F5 after Acer logo is gone)
Then do a system restore.
That might fix the problem.

My acer netbook isstuck in the safe mode restart

if you are running XP the simplest way to go about it would be to pop in an XP cd and repair repair the file system. the not so easy way to get your files back would be to get yourself a Linux Live CD and boot your computer into that and access your HDD, copy the files onto a USB key and key them there.

Stuck on the opening screen

try going to safe mode first... upon turning on your laptop, continuously press/ hit F8 key until it gives you options then select safe mode... after you're able to log into safe mode you can try and run a scandisk check or try to restart the computer to see if it would work in normal mode...

hope this helps you...

My Acer keeps on checking the file system on C: for consistency--after it is finished I get the screen to start windows normally and it will start the check all over again

have you try to check volume errors ?
From My Computer, right click the Drive (c:) then Properties, click Tools tab and then click Check Now, shut it down and restart.
Or you can even click Defragmentation, but it will take a long time.
Be sure to back up your impotant files before do Defragmentation, just in case.
