Hi... My Eee notebook won't power on even while charged with or without the battery... I used it as usual and removed the battery coz it would not power off and now it's dead! I know it's not the battery...

Did you get any error messages before you shut down the PC? Did you have any problems previously where you'd have to press the Power button more than once, and hold it a bit longer so that the laptop would realize that you want to turn it on? If this was the case, then it may just be an issue of loose cable inside the laptop, and you may have to remove the plastic bezel that houses the Power button, and reattach the cable that leads from that plastic bezel onto the motherboard.
Alternately, unplug the power cord and remove the battery, and then hold down the Power button for about 30 seconds and then try again, first with the battery only, then with the power cord only (to rule out a possible power supply failure), and then both. If this works, then start a demanding game or a DVD movie and run the movie on battery only, and then plug in the power cord and pay close attention to the movie. If the movie starts stuttering, or the playback pauses for a second, or the playback doesn't flow evenly, then you're looking at a defective power supply and you'll need to change it.
If this doesn't work, you may be looking at a dead motherboard. So either you need to repair the motherboard with a Maxim 1987/Maxim 1532 power chip failure, or you'll need to do a repair of the motherboard from a bad FSB/Graphics chip failure.
Both of these problems are very common with laptops, but fortunately for all of us, the repair of the motherboard isn't all that difficult, and it's way cheaper than getting a new motherboard.
Hope this helps, if it does, please give me one Thumb Up :)

DELL E1705 model. When connecting AC adapter, even before pressing power button, led in power adapter goes off immediately. Why ? The power adapter is OK. When connected with Battery, no switch-on.

Since the system is not working ion both battery and the adaptor it could be a faulty motherboard.. Call dell @18006249896 if you are in warranty.. Contact local tech if thr\e system is out of warranty....

Hi:
If you don't have the LED lit up on the board, the most likely failure is your power supply. You should be able to get a computer store to test it, to be sure, but a replacement is $30-40

When cut the electricite the pc restart ty

Many computers can be told to restart if they have had a power failure and this is nothing to be concerned about unless you dont want that to happen.

If that is the case then there will be a BIOS setting to change that.

Gateway gt motherboard failure

Yeah that's right. Change/replace the power supply. Yet, you have to test the power supply's conditions if it still works alright. since you are suspecting both motherboard and HDD first. If yellow light comes and no action to the whole machine then that must be something in the motherboard. Before you finally follow your decision to change the power supply, check the motherboard. There are capacitors and examine if it didn't bloat. If it does, just take out the capacitors with exact microfarad and voltage specs or change the whole board. And granting though that the supply is bad, there must be some electric signals that have caused to the mother board which will eventually, at the end of the day, you encounter the same problem with it.
