When taking a picture outside, the picture is all white (like over exposure). Can't seem to get anything to show.

My Nikon Coolpix S01 takes a very faded picture, which also shows on the screen. What caused this, and is it fixable?

All I can think of is either white balance, or exposure compensation. Have either of these deviated from the norm ?

Camera exilim ex-s600 will not take pictures outside, pictures turning out white, yet will take pictures inside ok.is this a worthwhile repair

This seems to be a software problem with your camera. Your camera should, if on AUTO mode, automatically expose your photo accurately. Try half pressing the shutter button (used to take pictures) while outside to adjust focus and exposure, then press the button fully to take picture. If your camera cannot adjust to take a properly exposed picture (not bright white), then it is possible that the shutter speed is stuck on a too high speed, outside daytime shutter speed should be fast (1/1000 sec). Or if your shutter speed adjust accurately, it could be the aperture if the aperture is not small enough for daylight shooting. This is likely a software problem. Try adjusting your settings manually and see if the picture turns out!

When I take pictures with my D60 on Manual the optimal exposure seems to be lying to me. In both situations dark and light everything is much much darker than it should be at optimal exposure. I want to...

Check the white balance. Set it to the corresponding lighting conditions and try the white card setting. It should be the last option on the white balance menu. To use it, snap a picture of a white piece of paper and save it. Just experiment with different settings till you get good results. Best of luck!

Casio exilim ex-z700

If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.

Can't repair by yourself.
It's need repair camera machine shutter.

Outside pictures turn white

Check the white balance. This should be under menu. When you are outside in sunlight, change is to the sun icon, ect.
Are the exposures very long? If they are, they need to be shorter in high light, and longer in lowlight situations.

Outside pictures are white

I had the same problem, but I fixed it for now. What happened was that part of the shutter got stuck, so it was taking in too much light from outside. Indoor pictures looked ok, unless there was motion. You can see if this is the same problem by looking in your lens and zooming in-see if anything looks weird; you should just see a reddish circle in the center of the lens. I wouldn't really recommend disassembling your lens like I did, but if you want to, I can try to help.

My Canon Powershot SD630

What do pictures taken at night/poor light look like ?? if they are an improvment ,
your Exposure/Auto-Light/White Balance settings may be horribly configured.

Firstly I'd try Resetting the camera to default settings by using the settings menu .
>Menu >Settings >Reset default settings

This should eliminate poor settings as a suspect for the problem.

Washed out pictures outside

I'm not familiar with that exact camera, but buried in the cameras menus - there are various options to set the camera to such setting as auto exposure and that sort of thing. Sounds like you may have discovered that already. In addition, some cameras offer a "white balance" setting - and that should be set on day light.
