Question about Computers & Internet
My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv2000. I got is a little less than 2 years ago. Its running Windows Vista.
My CD/DVD drive isn't working. I noticed it first in "my computer" there is normally an icon for the C drive (hard drive), and D drive (the CD/DVD drive). I noticed there was no icon for the CD/DVD drive. Windows Media Player is not recognizing the drive, it says "a CD drive is needed to rip music from CD's."
Winamp is not recognizing the drive, there is no where to play an audio CD that is in the drive.
The worst part is, I went to check the driver in the Device Manager and no CD drive appears there.
I can press the button on the side and the drive opens fine. When I push it in with a CD inside I can here it start working like it is reading the CD.
I noticed this and didn't think it was a big deal, then I reformatted my computer for a separate reason, and the CD drive is still not being detected at all.
I think your cd/dvd drvive's lence has problem, can u chk it in any other machie.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It could be that there is a static build up and that you need to get rid of this.
Remove the battery and the power cable and hold down the power button for around 30 seconds.
This should fix the problem...if it is the same as mine!
