My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv2000. I got is a little less than 2 years ago. Its running Windows Vista.
My CD/DVD drive isn't working. I noticed it first in "my computer" there is normally an icon for the C drive (hard drive), and D drive (the CD/DVD drive). I noticed there was no icon for the CD/DVD drive. Windows Media Player is not recognizing the drive, it says "a CD drive is needed to rip music from CD's."
Winamp is not recognizing the drive, there is no where to play an audio CD that is in the drive.
The worst part is, I went to check the driver in the Device Manager and no CD drive appears there.
I can press the button on the side and the drive opens fine. When I push it in with a CD inside I can here it start working like it is reading the CD.
I noticed this and didn't think it was a big deal, then I reformatted my computer for a separate reason, and the CD drive is still not being detected at all.

Upgraded to Windows 7, first everything seemed fine, as time goes on, I have started having issues connecting wireless. Replaced router, now using a Cisco Linksys. Other computers in the house connect just fine. Using a HP Pavilion dv9700. Any assistance at all for updated drivers would be appreciated. Also, many problems with my HP Officejet J6480 printer working from this laptop.
