Most compressor has a speed sensor to compare with the cranshaft sensor to prevent the compressor locked up.When you raised the RPM, after 15 sec, if the 2 sensors are not in synch then the computer thinks that the compressor is locked up so it disable the cluctch that was why your AC stops working. Check out your Compressor speed sensor. Good luck.

Air conditioning compressor on my 98 Chevy blazer won't engage. The AC is fully charged. The compressor

the compressor isn't getting the pressure for the clutc to maintain after disengaging the short by removing paperclip. check fuse, relay, and the low/ high pressure lines. if the compreeor doesn't since the correct amount of gas charge and/ or receives it the clutch wont engage not sure about a weak compressor if it may be a contributor. will check back later short on time. I just had mine fixed 2001 chevy 4wd. it was the relay and charge.

2001 Honda CRV air-conditioner does not work. does have a refrigerant charge. the compressor is operable.

Can you describe the symptoms? "Does not work" can mean many different things.
Do you get warm air instead of cold?
Does air even come out?
Does the compressor engage when you turn AC on?

98 honda crv wil start if jump started and then later won't start

Your battery is not fully charged and may not be accepting a full charge. Remove your battery and put it on a charger overnight. Take the battery to a parts store and have them hook it up. They will then be able to tell if it is taking a full charge or not. If this is a new battery it will take a full charge but it is still getting drained by something such as a radio not shutting off automatically, if you have that option.

When air conditioner is on, and the car is idling the rpms spike

You most likely have an AC compressor that is cycling on and off to often, this causes the RPMs at idle to fluctuate. The rapid cycling of the AC compressor is caused by a low AC system charge of refrigerant due to a leak in most likely the compressor shaft seal. Please have an AC repair ship confirm this educated guess..

I have a 98 Honda crv. About a month and a half ago I had the ac compressor replaced and all charged up. This is the first summer I have had this car so don't know how well the air works in them. It...

There are a few things to check before I recommend a 2nd opinion. If you have a cabin air filter, check that it is not clogged up with debris or very dirty. Also check that the electric fan comes on as soon as the ac is commanded on. It has 2 speeds (high and low) and it will automatically go to high speed when the AC compressor cuts on to cool off the condenser. Also check that there isn't anything blocking airflow from the front of your vehicle to your radiator/condenser area. Last thing to check would be taking it to a shop that knows what they are doing (it'll probably cost $60+) and make sure your system is fully charged and have them add dye if it isn't so they can locate the leak.

My battery is good and i road it for bout 2 hrs then came to stop and now it wont stay running unless i jump start it

You may need to clean connectors on battery wires ,or replace a fuse. The charge depleating could also be caused by a bad stator, stator wire conection or voltage regulator. after battery is charged test volts at battery while running, they should raise when rpms are increased to 1500 or 2000 or so, idle voltage may be 12 volts with rpms raised volts should go up to as much as 14.8 or so if all is well.if not keep looking for the problem from volt reg. back to stator .also stator output is AC and regulator output is DC.

My 1994 honda civic wont turn on my a/c compresor. when i switch on the a/c the idle jumps up the down then up then down. anyone know what happening

This is being caused by a low charge in the AC system, the idle is due to the rapid kicking on and off of the AC compressor on the engine, each time the compressor comes on the computer raises the idle and then drops it when the compressor turns off. U have no cooling right? U have a leak in the AC, have the leak fixed and then get the system re-charged.

Idle Revs With Front Defrost

when you use the front defrost in the winter the cycling of tha a/c compressor will cause this condition.

when you use defrost the a/c is run to de-humidfy the air that is blown onto your windshield.

in the summer this is not a big deal as it is hot enough outside to keep the a/c system pressure above the compressor clutch cycle threshold. but in the winter the general lack of heat in the ambient air and the lack of humidity results in rapid cycling of the ac compressor.

the idle is bumped up to compensate for the load of the a/c compressor, or else your engine would stall out. but when the compressor is disengaged the idle is dropped. but it raises again when the compressor cycles back on.

there may be a good chance that your ac is under charged after all these years. when the weather gets warmer have the charge level in your ac system checked.

a low charge will also increase the on off on off cycling of the ac compressor, usually resulting in the complaint that you have. so the base issue of your problem is low ac system charge.
