Generally speaking this is a sign of a grounded compressor, must be verified with a ammeter and an ohmeter.

Sounds like a short to ground problem with either the motor windings shorting to ground or a high voltage wire shorting.

The outside unit is running, fan is working, but the furnace will not start... it's getting hot in here!

There are many reasons why the 'inside' fan motor could not be running, however, the obvious one is that the breaker (to the inside unit) has tripped, and needs to be reset.
Hopefully, that might be your only problem. Sometimes they (breakers) will 'trip' for no reason, although most of the time a 'tripped breaker' is an indication of another problem.
If resetting your breaker does not cause the motor to run - then your best solution would be to have a AC Tech troubleshoot it to find out the cause.
Hope this has helped.

Hello I would add a HARD START KIT to the run capasitor (if there is not one already). This makes the compressor come on easy.If the breaker trips during running time the pressures are too high, hose off the condenser coil (fins). The unit might be slightly overcharged but I would be careful before adjusting the freon at all.

Outside unit tripped the breaker. flip the breaker

Check the fan relay or contacts first. If the compressor comes on then your fan may be locked and will need replacing.

AC breaker trips after 10 minutes

Whats the amp breaker? Is this for the inside unit or the outside condenser? If the inside and gas heat you have a bad fan motor, If its an electric furnace , the same, but if its the outside unit, the fan could be going bad, locking up and the compressor still runs and pulls high ampsand tripps breaker or the compressor is just pulling too many amps due to plugged coils with dirt , grass or weeds blocking airflow.(koolbreezes74401@yahoo.com)

My ac circuit breaker keep tripping

If your outside condenser has a locked rotor or short circuit, than the unit WILL trip the breaker - as it should. On the other hand if a breaker is tripped a few times it will have less of a capacity that the rating, (this is designed in it). You will need to determine if the unit is locked (and broken) or the breaker has become too sensitive.
