Question about Pentax Optio M10 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Grey icon; top righthand corner

I have a small litttle grey icon that appears in the top right hand corner of my camera screen. It is an upwards rectangle with an arrow head. I have purchased new batteries and a new memory card and nothing seems to work. I have even tried locking and unlocking the memory card, but it does not help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It probably is a mode you are in, try switching your modes, is this the picture you are seeing up in the right, the gray icon?6719dfc.jpg

What setting do I use to shoot close up (macro) pictures of my items?

1) switch camera to "on"
2) Using the fwd, back etc control switch, located to the right of the screen, set it to "macro"
This is the left hand side of the ring switch. (back arrow). The macro icon (looks like a flower icon)will appear in the viewfinder in the top left hand corner.
3) to cancel macro, press this "back arrow" again.Or switch the camera to off.

I have a nikon camera and there is a small red hand flashing at the top right hand corner,How can i get this to go away?

OK, the red hand icon that's flashing indicates that the camera is using a slow shutter speed, and is warning me to be careful to hold it steady.)

So, basically you will just need to increase the shutter speed, and the hand will go away. This setting is usually done in manual mode.

Kind regards

This is usually caused by the SD card, and is nothing to do with the camera. On the SD card there is a small slider - which allows you to lock the card (to prevent accidental erasure).

If you put in on the table with contacts upwards, corner cut top left, then the slider is on the right hand edge, about 1/3 the way down. If it is slid to the top position (nearest the contacts) the card is unlocked. If it is slid down (away from the contacts) the card is locked. (Sometimes it looks unlocked, but its so tiny, its actually in-beteen the settings. To make sure, slide it to locked, then back to unlocked again).

If it is a damaged / "cheap" card, sometimes the slider falls out, in which case the card is locked. You can still read from it, but not write to it until fixed or replaced.

Have you tried the camera with another SD card, to see if the problem persists?

Conon powershot a470 i cant find in the manual where the battery life is displayed? is it on the screen? do u have 2 change setting 2 find it? or does this model not display it on the screen?

Your a470 has a "low battery" flashing icon that will appear in the upper right hand corner of your lcd display when the battery is getting low. It doesn't appear to have a constant battery display. The manual recommends when you see the flashing icon... change the battery as soon as possible.

Hi, if its taking pictures ok and you can see them on your computer it sounds very much like the screen is damaged, If you can post a picture of the screen I may be able to confirm.

Best of luck

Flashing icon

Low shutter speed icon means that when you take photo the image will be blurry if camera moved.

Is there this icon when flashlight is turned on?
