Hi,

Might be some hardware problem but you can uninstall its software and driver and then reinstall its software and driver. Try to use different USB port.

Please report back to the thread the results of your work.

Hassan

My webcam is installed and worked on Skype once. Now it turns on but does not transmit any image. what should i do?

Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

Not working ? - troubleshoot your drivers and software - get your cam working before moving on

Working OK ?

CONFIGURE TO SKYPE
Connect webcam
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start (To reboot the webcam software) - if you have been using it elsewhere the SKYPE software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Start Skype.
On the 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'.
In the navigation pane of the Skype 'Options' window, click 'Audio Settings'
Run down the list setting your defaults
Select your webcam as the default microphone.
Make a free test call
Click 'Save'
In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings.
This will launch your webcam
Adjust quality of picture in 'Settings'
Check the correct webcam is shown as default
Click Save
Test your webcam by making a Skype test call.

I'm trying to skype with someone who has Microsoft LifeCam - I have Logitech. We are locking up if we connect at all. Is it the cameras that incompatible? internet connection? or what ?

no, it is the software. the camera is just a device for transmitting the image the cam never really contact each other direct. make sure you are both on the same version of skype. test your cam in the tools>settings>video settings. if you still have issue you may need to contact skype thru email.

When I use Logitech Webcam on skype, my imgae is transmitter but freeses after a few seconds.

this is a common problem with with skype
go to skype then try tool>options>video settings

if the cam is skipping there you may not have the enough power to run the cam and the software at he same time. if no skip check your antivirus and turn off temporarily to make sure it is not scanning data as you are transmitting.

Microsoft LifeCam VX500 video interface w/Skype

For Skype - It might be that it needs to be setup or re set up.
Skype/ Tools/ Video - Check your settings for webcam are present.

For Yahoo, I'm not sure if its the same problem - but re-check the setup in Video/ Audio Settings.

Fuzzy image quality

This has nothing to do with your cam. Its a result of bandwidth and transmit speed. Nothing you can do except get a faster connection.

If the image quality is poor while transmitting video over the Internet using video enabled programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! or AOL Instant Messenger, your connection speed to the Internet directly affects the image quality of the transmitted video. Corporate LAN, DSL/cable modem connections will result in the best image quality experience, while dial-up connections may result in choppy and overall poor quality because of the slower connection speed. Even broadband connections such as DSL/cable modem may experience choppy video at times because of Internet traffic or slow upload speeds. If the image appears clearly in the camera software, most likely your Internet connection may be responsible for the poor image quality in your video program.
