Question about SPARKLE Computer Sparkle GeForce 9500GT DDR2 PCI-E Video Card w/DVI TV-Out SFPX95GT1024U2H

2 Answers

I have a GeForce 9500GT PCI 512MB video card. It has been working fine for weeks, now it only displays a black screen. Nothing new has been added or installed on the computer. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 531S with Vista 32 bit OS. I updated the driver in safe mode but still no luck. I had to remove it and use the onboard video card. Any advise?

I to have had problems with this card.. I am on my second replacement under warranty...I think it is a over heat problem as all cards are fanless and have had different heatsinks attached...which smacks to me of problems in dissipating the heat..only recourse is to have it changed under warranty...this time i have requested the card to be the same but by a different manufacturer to see if this solves the problem..

Theren is nothing wrong with your computor if it is working fine with the on board graphics. your Graphics card is sadly damaged for sure somehow either by heating or voltage fluctuation or some other problem. this is a hardware problem and not a software one, so updating the graphics driver wont help. check if your card is in warranty period and get it replaced or repaired by contacting dell. as far as i know dell replaces damaged components for free within 3 years, you need to check up with them.

Can i use a geforce 9500gt 1 gb on my dg31pr?

Yes, the GeForce 9500GT has a PCI-E 2.0 x16 interface which is backward compatible with the PCI-E 1.0 x16 slot in the Intel DG31PR. I just installed a GeForce 450GTS last week with the same PCI-E 2.0 x16 interface in a motherboard with PCI-E 1.0 x16 slot and it works fine. Benchmarks were excellent.

Have you installed the proper monitor drivers as your main display? Also at Nvidia they have a large selection of new drivers for this. From what I have read, it only seems to happen with Windows 7. What operating system are you running, and also what Monitor do you have?

No video output

Depending on your computer/motherboard there is either a bios setting or jumper you must disable to router video to your graphics card. It is probably still trying to output video on your integrated video card.

Hope this helps,

Installing a new pci-e video

For one, what you can do is put in your old card. Install the NEW drivers for your 9500GT and shutdown. Install new Graphics card. (I would double check for an "ATX" power input on the card.)(, im sure it needs one) and that should hopefully help, Also consult your motherboard booklet and your graphics card booklet to see if the card is compatible. Hope this helps!
