Go to the company's website, but if it's not an aftermarket keyboard, like logitech, those keys will never work.

On my Toshiba Satellite Laptop I have opened and started the computer but can't get past the sign in window because my enter key and space bar won't respond. I can type letters but can not enter...

> hardware problem or software or keyboard?

Experiment #1: turn the computer off. Connect a USB keyboard. Turn the computer on. Use that keyboard to try the 'TAB' key (to move from field-to-field). If TAB works, then try using the SPACE or ENTER keys.

Experiment #2: turn the computer off. Turn the computer on, and look for the message:

PRESS <blah> to ENTER BIOS SETUP

When you see the message, press the <blah> key. On the BIOS SETUP menus, try the ENTER key to "select" a field, to prove that the ENTER key works fine.

Experiment #3: Turn the computer off. Disconnect the AC power. Remove the battery.
Remove the disk-drive. Take the original CD/DVD disk, and start to install Windows to the disk-drive. As you work through the installation screens, you'll need to press ENTER at least once,
if only to acknowledge that installation cannot proceed, because the disk-drive is not connected.
If the ENTER key works, it works.

Experiment #4: Like #3, but connect a different, empty, disk-drive, and reinstall Windows.
If it completes, then your "original" setup has a SOFTWARE problem.

When i type a word tomorrow on my laptop computer, t600r6w word display on monitor. what is a cause of this problem

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. To be able to fix the issue you need to press FN + Numlock key of your keyboard. The numlock key is on that's why number appears instead of letters. Numlock key is next to F12 button.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I need the 25 character product key for my computer. There is one on the side of computer but it does not work. what can I do?

There are a few reasons it won't work.

The most likely is you have used the wrong install disk. The Key on the side only works with the right version of windows and only certain batches of the OEM/COA disks.

If you are using the correct disk then it is possible you have entered the key wrong, I have often had trouble discening an 8 from a B a 1 from I or L when reading the product keys. Try a few variations of the easier to confuse letters.

Third it is possible the key is invalid, if you call microsoft activation. Go to:

http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx?RDPATH=dm;en-us;select&target=assistance

and pick your country then call the activation number, they can help you determine if you have the right disk and license combination and issue a new disk or key if they simply don't work. However, please verify the version of windows matches the key before calling them. If you are unsure, reply with all the words(do not include the product key) on both the license and the disk and I will attempt to help you determine if you have a matched set or not.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Crankstart

Some keys are not working in my keyboard what should i do

If its a multi-media keyboard and the its the muti-media keys that are not working, there may have been a disk to install the keyboard drivers for those keys. Install the disk that came with the computer, or go to the manufacturer's website and see if there are drivers you can download and install.

If its just random keys, try the keyboard in another computer and see if the same problem occurs. If so, return it to the store for another one if you are within the return policy days. If not, just buy a new keyboard.

The mouse on Dinovo edge keyboard not working at all

It is possible that your touch-disk is turned off. Try pressing the Fn key (RHS of the space bar, between the alt and ctrl keys) along with the "right mouse button" (the right button underneath the touch disk) -- when you press the Fn key the word "On" will light up above the button.

If that is not the problem, perhaps the driver software was not properly installed or the keyboard is defective. You could try reinstalling Logitech's software.

Good luck.

Keys on keyboard not working properly

go control panel, hit mouse and find default settings. hit default, ok and do a reset on your computer.
If you have a special install disk for your mouse when the system starts back up ,test your keys then install the disk(or CD). if this does not correct your problem , check to see if someone changed the language on your pc. If english, buy a new keyboard.

Keyboard

No keys on my keyboard work. Cause: This issue is often caused by either a bad keyboard, bad interface board, and/or bad motherboard.
Answer: Disconnect the keyboard from the computer and connect another known working keyboard to it. If this is a PS/2 keyboard and connecting multiple keyboards or a known working keyboard to the computer PS/2 port does not work unfortunately it's likely that the PS/2 port is bad. Because this port is part of the motherboard this will require that you replace the motherboard. Alternatively if replacing the motherboard is too costly or not an effective solution you could also consider using a USB keyboard if USB ports are available on the computer.

Not all keys on keyboard work.

Reference number: CH000305
Not all keys on keyboard work. Issue: Not all keys on keyboard work.
Cause: This issue is often caused by a bad keyboard or software preventing these keys to be pressed.
Additional information: This document contains information about troubleshooting a keyboard that has some functioning keys. If no key on the keyboard is working see document CH000955.
Solution: Verify that the key is not working in more than one application. It is possible that some keys may not be used in all programs. This generally always applies to the Function keys F1 through F12. If not all keys are working in all programs and you have Windows, attempt to boot the computer to a MS-DOS prompt or safe mode and test the keyboard in DOS. Information about getting into safe mode can be found on document CHSFAFE and information on how to boot to DOS can be found on document CHDOS. If it appears that a substance has been spilt into the computer, please review document CH000303. If all above suggestions have been completed or if you are not running Windows, it is likely that the keyboard and/or keys are bad and it is recommended that the keyboard be replaced with a new one.

GE Wireless keyboard repeats keys always

A possible cause of this could be low batteries in the keyboard. Also, try repositioning the wireless receiver so there are no obstacles between the keyboard and the receiver.
