Price on new 42"screen - Televison & Video

toshiba will sell you a new one at about 800 dollars (worked at best buy and tha was the price for a 42 in screen) the best bet is to either take it to a local tv repair shop or buy a new tv at that price. new egg and tigerdirect.com have that model for about 800 dollars alone

Because the LCD screen is about 90% of the LCD tv.No where else u will find a LCD screen for sale.Except the tvs corporation themself,LCD screen it limited produce,so the will charge u the LCD screen replacement same as a new tv or even more after the labors and LCD screen replacement.Ur tv now it only can be salvage as for electronics boards for parts that it.Not worth as a whole tv any more.

Yes it can, you'll want to let an authorized technician do it for you though. Keep in mind that the cost of the repair is going to be between 500 and 800 dollars depending on the brand of the television and the rates of the service depot.
There isn't any painless way to make the decision, but of course be sure to weigh the price of a new panel against the price of a new television all together.

The price of a new tv - the screen must be replaced (it's unfixable) and that will cost almost as a new tv.

The cost of a screen from LG is £430, this is a trade price so you would need to add on extras such as VAT, handling/delivery charges etc, which could take it to near £500. Possibly try looking on e-bay for any cheaper alternatives as this would take the cost close to the price of a new TV.

The short answer, buy a new one.

A new screen will cost you about the same as a new tv, if not sightly more considering your brand and model of TV. There really is no reasonable price to replace the screen and is usually not completely covered by warranty(some manufacturers don't even include a broken screen as part of the warranty).

The price of your HDTV is not that bad. You could probably find the tv cheaper than the repair if you shopped around a little.

P.S. I'd also stay away from the busted TV itself (health issues).

I assume you mean, "flat" just the outer screen? There are three screens there. The outer one, called the screen filter is p/n# AA67-00207A... The next is called screen tint, p/n#
AA67-00193A and the inner most screen is the fresnel screen, p/n# AA67-00193B...
Now the tough part of the question::: If anyone will have these it would be Samsung parts, http://www.samsungparts.com/search/search.asp but I don't know at what price or availability.. Just don't dock my rating for not knowing..
