Hi mrcooperdog,
The diagnostics for a front loader is pretty simple. I have enclosed a link to a similar machine.
Watch it carefully and do it afterwards.
Good luck!

I had a similar issue, had a bad bearing. A quite frequent failure int this device. Only way to diagnose is dismounting it
These are not properly your model but see some videos how to do it:; might help to understand the job
There are bearings on the drum that go out and sadly on the WP Duets, they aren\'t replaceable. You have to purchase an outer rear drum and replacing them is annoying. There are lots of youtube videos but unless you find a used one for parts, you will spend about $300 just on the drum and the labor for it will be ridiculous.
If this has a belt, then the belt may be broken or stretched out. Bad drum bearings can seize up and won't let the drum rotate anymore. A bad door switch can cause the machine not to run.
yes this model has a real problem with the washer drum bearing. there are many class action law suits on this, when it gets really bad grease will start getting on your clothes
It sounds like you need a bearing job. The bearings in the back half of the wash tub go bad. and the washer gets loud .It's an expensive repair. I hope this helps
This sounds like a worn bearing housing or the bearing itself has packed up,either way you would have to strip and check these and replace what is broken
i do hope that you have been using he detergent if not it will take the bearing out, if you have then the bearing just went bad i would call whirlpool at 800-874-4698 they may be able to offer assistance if you dont have an extended contract on the washer
