Gps wont turn on after hitting a bigwave on the boat

Gps was working fine checked all external fuses. They are ok, is there any interal fuses?

SOURCE: My Garmin Etrex wont turn on on batteries but it works fine on external usb power.

I have the same problem. The unit works until I connect it to whatever computer via USB (Mac or PC). The screen blanks out as soon as I plug in the USB cable. I have to disconnect the device and only then I am able to turn it on again. That started after Firmware update from V 2.90 to 3.00 . I am not sure this is causing problem. What about the firmware versions of your devices ? Are they all on the latest ?
However, does anybody know if there is a way to go back to firmware version 2.9 if it is not possible anymore to connect the device to any computer (evtl. through putting data on the microSD card ?).

Gps problem
If the new harness / parts are listed for use with this model GPS, it should work - unless you have miswired something. Double-check your work. Make sure all connections are made up tight. Pay particular attention to the ground wire. Relying on the boat to pass ground it not reliable. Look for damaged or cut cable from power source and transducer. You may wish to troubleshoot with a meter or a test light to be sure power is available at the GPS. Good luck!

Wont search for sattelites
Hi

Does your unit have an external aerial as shown in the pic, If so double check the connection from the aerial into back of the fishfinder, lube with water proof grease (Non-conductive)

You do not say whether it has worked before.

Also need to know where it is located on boat, it must have a view of sky overhead (If internal antennae)

Ext antennae must also be in view of sky, not under "solid" cover.

I have a 1987 mercury 9.9 outboard drive problems
the inside of the prop has a rubber between the prop itself and the inside splines to act as a shock absorber,say if you were to hit a rock. that rubber had spun out and the splines are turning inside the prop. the prop is screwed. seen it 100 times before.

had same problem with lms337. i had upgraded the unit but had not upgraded the lms2000 gps module. i was turning the isolator on in the boat which powers up gps module, if the lms337 is not powered up as well the gps unit goes to sleep. the upgrade fixes it by checking that the unit has not been turned on periodically. otherwise as soon as you power up gps module also turn on lms337. lowrance product support sorted this for me.
