My games console wont work with this tv. why?

Hey Robert,

Most gaming consoles come standard with RCA cables to connect to your television. (red, yellow and white plugs) However may people are upgrading component cables, S video and HDMI cables to enhance video and sound.

Here is an guide on how to connect from Wiki:

What gaming console are you trying to connect? And what is the model number of the TV you are trying to connect it to?

With this information, it will be easier to diagnose the problem.

How can i connect my nintendo 64 to a magnavox flatscreen tv?

N64 is pretty old so RCA connections is about the best your going to get. Not sure where You could pick this up locally since the one end that plugs into the game system is unique to the Nintendo 64 but this it what it looks like and it will run you like 8 bucks on the Net.

Video games connected to this tv, will the video games damage the screen?

Only time it will affect the screen is if you leave the game on one screen for a long time. You will not have "image burn-in". It takes a very long time for that to happen.

Problem with HDTV on my Philips 55PP9401.

it is not reccommended for game console to be played on a projection t.v because projection tv's have three color bulbs in them and the conversion is different and if it happens to work it has been known to have burn the games image in the screen after awhile.. usually the store doesn't tell youthat unless you ask them about playing game consoles on a projection tv

Samsung tv

Hey tj1217,

The most common problem that may occur when you connect a video game console to a TV (especially front and rear-projection models) is a condition that is often called "image burn" or "image retention." This typically happens if the same image is left on the screen for a prolonged period of time, like when playing a video game that has many stationary images or if the game is left on pause for an extended period. In some cases, this may even be caused by test patterns, on-screen programming menus, or picture-in-picture boxes.

Before connecting your Nintendo Wii, I would first suggest checking the owner's manual for the TV itself to see if Samsung has any warnings or disclaimers against doing so. If you are unable to find your owner's manual or are unsure of what to do next, you may always contact Samsung directly for more information.

Should you choose to connect the Wii based on the manufacturer's suggestions/warnings, keep in mind that you can usually avoid issues like image burn by taking simple precautions such as turning the TV off when taking a break. The less time that the same images (or backgrounds) are displayed on the screen, the lower the risk is of image burn occurring.

Hope this helps you out.
