Question about Metra 95 96 Chevy Truck
It's making a god awful squeaking sound. The same sound my car made when the serpentine belt was too tight. It's just not the same way to loosen it, I don't think. On my car I loosened it by moving the alternator up and down. But it doesn't look like there's a way to move the alternator in my `96 Chevy K1500 and I don't want to loosen anything too much because I'd rather nothing fall off accidentally! Lol. So I just need to know how to loosen it up just a tiny bit. Thanks.
There is no way to loosen the belt in that chevy. it is a serpentine belt system with a belt tensioner that keeps the correct tension on the belt. check the belt and all the pulleys for wear. if the belt and pulley are in good shape i would suggest changing the belt tensioner.
