Vertical Foldover on screen and intermittent power issues

I work at Q13 FOX in Seattle and we have about 12 of the Toshiba 27DF46 tv. Almost every single one of them had the same problem with a vertical foldover. After testing almost all of the electrolytic capacitors I found that the capacitor C407 was the culprit. It is a 35v 100uF capacitor located to the left of the vertical circuit chip (LA7847). I also had the capacitor C432 (160v 47uF) fail on a few of them. It is part of the power circuit. Last but not least, I was having a thermal power up problem on one machine. It seems as though it is coming from the power area but it is so intermittant that I couldn't track it down. I also found that once it is plugged in to power that it would work fine after being plugged in for about 20 seconds or so. If someone else has experienced this issue and has a fix let me know as I still have 9 more of these bad boys to take down from their wall mounts and fix the vertical foldover issue... Thanks and I hope this may help others on the solution I found.

Since your problem is coming and going your vertical output Ic is prob still good at this time, It needs to be resoldered and this should fix your problem the repair tech may want to replace the Ic and this is ok too. Location of IC on board is Q301 Part number 23319832 and costs about 10-15 dollars plus labor.
