The refrigerator and freezer does not cool. The freezer part ''died'' last night and the refrigerator is not cooling.

The unit is a Kenmore Coldspott Model 106.53592300, approximately 5-6 years old. I woke up this morning to find water on the floor, the food in the freezer is not frozen, and no cold air to freezer. After returning home today, there is no cold air to refrigerator or freezer. I tried resetting circuit breaker, but no success. I hear the fan in the freezer, but no cold air. Thank You.

Would you care to share a little more information? The unit is how old? Brand/model? Define "died"?

Your freezer cools the refrigerator side, check the overload relay on the compressor if that is okay check that the compressor is running, if it is not then you need a new one probably not worth repairing unless it is under some warranty.

Refrigerator side not cooling, but feezer is still freezing

DEFROST HEATERS IN THE FREEZER. IF THERE IS FROST ON THE BACK WALL INSIDE THE LOWER AREA OF THE FREEZER SECTION. YOU THEN HAVE A DEFROST PROBLEM. THE HEATER IS THE MOST COMMON. REMOVE THAT PANEL AND DEFROST WITH HAIR DRYER. THIS FROST IS BLOCKING THE AIR FLOW TO THE REF. SIDE. AFTER THIS IT WILL WORK FOR 10-21 DAYS WITH OUT REPLACING THE DEFROST HEATER. 95 PERCENT CHANCE. JUST REPLACE THE HEATER SOON AFTER DEFROSTING SO YOU DONOT HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN.

Freezer not freezing

Because it stopped cooling so fast, over night, I would make sure the compressor is running and the condenser fan motor that sits next to it.

Refrigerator nor freezer was not getting cool enough. We have a side by side refrigerator. Last night we cleaned the freezer and saw there was built up ice inside at back..it is a self defrosting...

Remove back cover in freezer to completely thaw out. Check continuity on defrost heater replace if needed, also replace defrost thermostat, that is probably the problem.
