Hi Terry, yes it is a 50607 dec. 1999 i see i put 2 different models and shivam 4529 not sure where you were trying to go with that answer but my cable bill is paid and my problem has nothing to do with my DVD it happens watching anything

  • eddie57 Nov 19, 2007

yes i actually did buy a bypass kit on ebay with easy instructions and pictures the problem was that they changed it and the card was not where it was suppose to be so the person which is a tech said yes there was a change right about that time and that was it no follow up or suggestions so the tv has sat for a while now and it seems that there is no easy answer to this, i would think if a tech had a repair/service manual it should tell, i am trying to save this tv as it has very light use and i here the charge would be around 400.00 and i probably then would just get hdtv and apply that money but i just like this one it fits perfect and looks new.

i think you might have been on the right track but on friday i had a tech from here that fixed the tv but he read your e-mail, it turned out it was NOT that but luckily i only had to pay 253.00 so i would like a refund of my money i paid, but thanks for trying, josh.

This set will have componet inputs in the back (red blue green) if your dvd is progressive scan then we need to hook it up here using the red blue green jacks on the dvd and hook them to the tv.these lines should clear up using these inputs. if they do i might have a idea of your problem.
let me know?
Tips

  • Have you paid your bill lately? Most cable companies will interrupt your cable box if you are 2 months past due.
  • If and when your cable tv goes completely out, most likely it is an outage and will clear up spontaneously on it's own. To generate an outage and have the operators tech's come out to investigate, report all outages to your cable operators immediately. They appreciate the report.
  • Most cable TV problems, and I say 80%, can be solved by the subscriber by checking the obvious like coax lines, for no picture on screen and have a box is the TV set itself set to channel 03? Have you installed splitters/moved equipment? Have you a High Def TV and box ?? Make certain that you have the television set to the correct INPUT by using your TELEVISION maker's remote to change from AV1..AV2..VIDEO 1 etc through the settings until you get a cable picture on screen. If your on screen displays don't show on your TV. you either have the TV set on the "wrong" input or that your cable box is not even powered on. Like I said, check the obvious first.
    • Motorola boxes that read 888 are dead and need to be replaced. Do not waste your time to call the cable company, just swap it out for a new one!

Mitsubishi TV had horizontal lines across the screen and rolls up

Answer
ONE: Yes, the speaker mounted close/near to the set can be a cause of mischief; please move it further away and see if that helps clear up the problem. But, you must keep it away for several days before you will know for sure because it takes some time to degauss all the internal parts that may have become corrupted by the magnets in the speaker.

TWO: Yes, any set can be repaired the question is cost and wisdom. Old sets are sometimes not worthy of the repair simply because of the likelyhood that another failure will follow soon after. A big screen always invokes a repair charge of $200 and up. After a few of these you will wish you had put all the money into a new set!

THREE: The lines are most likely a problem in the vertical blanking circuits of the set. These are horizontal retrace lines that are supposed to be blanked out during vertical retrace of the raster. Think of it as a paintbrush that scans across the screen painting thin lines and when you get to the bottom of the screen it goes quickly back to the top, but during that time the horizontal, which is many times faster, has made several sweeps; so it must be blanked out during the retrace. The repair involves finding the guilty parts and replacing them. Usually this repair runs over the $200 somewhat.

FOUR: Prior to calling in a service tech try a hard reset to see if that will recover any of the circuit degradations. Merely unplug the power cord and leave unplugged for 4 hours or more. It may help. Or, it may not help; but worth a try since is won't cost you anything.

If the set is over 5 or 6 years of age it probably is not a condidate for any expensive repair. On the other hand, it is a Toshiba - and they make a fine set.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further thoughts.

If the picture looks like a 3D then you have a convergence failure.
I would suggest to visually inspect the STK Ics for dry or crystallized solder joints.

After a household power blips during bad weather, we have horizontal lines ....

Unfortunately there isn't any way to repair your tv as the magnet has distorted the tube that is in the tv and with CRT becoming obsolete the repair is likely to be very costly so probably your chaepest option is to buy a new tv .

There is a quick test you can do to determine if the problem is in your PIP module, using two 4.7uf/50v electrolytic capacitors. The PIP module plugs into two connectors on the main board. Remove the PIP module, and on connector VP on the main board (the 11 pin connector), use one cap to jumper from pin 7 to 9 (negative lead on pin 9); and use the other cap to jumper from pin 5 to 11 (negative lead on pin 11). If the PIP module is bad, you will now have video. The PIP module has surface mount capacitors that go bad. Just make sure you solder a small lentgh of wire to the capacitor leads to prevent them from shorting as they cross over each other. Just plug the wires into the socket no need to solder them.

Mitsibishi 50" vs50607 convergence?

Rolling picture could be a pip module problem as both horizontal and vertical sync goes through the PIP module. These sets have been known to have bad caps in the pip board causeing loss of vertical sync.If you need any more info let me know.

Horizontal roll on mitusbishi 35" tv

is this a horizontal black line going up or down? if yes, this sympton is caused by a trouble in the integrated circuit or in the vertical oscillator circuit. this symptons has 2 variations. one is the intermittent rolling of the picture. this referred to as the "loose vertical hold" the other variations is the continuous upward or downward rolling of the picture
