Open the left door, open the ice maker door, in the upper left hand corner there should be a green light, make sure you have selected one of the options(small or large cubes)

How do I find out what the error code on my refrigerator means?

Sounds like an LG (also sold as Sears Kenmore Elite). Error code F1 indicates a problem with the ice fan, and the noise you describe sounds to me like the system trying to run a stuck fan. This is usually due to frost or ice buildup, which can occur if the doors aren't closing correctly or don't seal completely. Moist room air gets pulled through the fan, and water condenses out and freezes. If you can provide us with the make/model number of your refrigerator, we should be able to tell you where to look for the fan, so you can thaw it out or remove a cover to clear away any ice. We can also point you to instructions for checking/adjusting the doors. I would keep your appointment even if you get the fan running again, especially if the unit is still under warranty- the technician can check that it's working correctly and nothing got damaged.

Error code ER f1 is it just the ice maker fan , turning off ice maker refrigerator works fine . Turn switch on in less than 3 minutes error code shows up. What can I do?

The fan may be blocked by Ice. try warming up the area where the fan is and see if it will release it. Try turning the fan blade with a wooden stick to see if it's free otherwise the fan may need to be replaced. Provide your model number found in the fridge food section of the refrigerator

I have an LG fridge display giving me ER F1 code. i can unplug the fridge and plug it back in and the display resets for about 2 minutes and the the code comes back?

The ER 1F code usually means that there is a problem with the ice compartment fan, the ice maker motor or one of the control boards (the one for the ice maker or the main control unit). You can try resetting the refrigerator by leaving it unplugged for a day. Next check for ice build up on the fan that is blocking it from turning. Usually, if the fan hasn't been turning, you will have to at minimum replace the motor. It will burn out trying to force the fan to turn.

Sears Parts Direct has a diagram of the LFX23961SW case parts here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/lg-refrigerator-parts/model-LFX23961SW/3204/0161000/K0810254/00001.html . The fan motor is part 405G.

I hope this helps.

We have an error code on the water dispenser screen - Er IF What is the fix for this problem? This is an LG French door model LFX25950SB.

You have a ice fan motor problem. This fan motor is what feeds cold air to the icemaker. Try unplugging the refrigerator for a few minutes to reset the computer. Plug it back in and see if the error code stays off. If it returns, you will need to remove the ice fan motor from the freezer and see if ice has built up and blocked the air flow. The ice fan motor is located behind the back wall inside the freezer. You will have to remove the drawers and slide supports to remove the back wall. There are 2 fans behind the wall. The one on the left is the ice fan motor. Good luck.

F1-E1 - EEPROM Checksum Error - Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds and then reconnect.
Allow at least a minute after power has been restored and if error code reappears, replace control board (clock).

Refrigerator LG LFC25760ST Serial # 701KRUC00022 PROBLEM ERROR CODE: ER FF What is this? How can I solve the problem?

Hi, The FF error code indicates that the freezer fan motor is defective. You could also get this code if ice is preventing the fan from turning. Please set up service for refrigerator before the fan motor gets worse !

It's written like this in the repair manual:
Which means what I just wrote above about the fan motor!!
Error detection category:
Abnormality of BLDC FAN Motor for Mechanic Room

Error Display: FF

Error generation factors:

It is caused when F/B signal isn’t over 115 seconds during BLDC FAN motor operating

Remarks:
Poor BLDC Motor connection, DRIVE IC, and TR.You can check the below trick, if that might work on your model :-

Pull the top and bottom baskets out, and take the back panel out from inside. There would be asolid block of ice built up around both fans and wires. Take a blow dryer and gradually melt the ice around the fans and wires. Then, pull the remaining ice chunks off of the wires. Then put the thing back together and it should clear the message.

Unless call a tech from LG.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
