The Dyson cords are known to go bad, test the cord and see if there is voltage. If this is too mechanical for you, please take the vacuum to your nearest vacuum repair shop
Hello, my Miele Olympus was running, then stopped all of the sudden and it smelled. did not turn on since. Does that mean the motor has gone bad when it starts smelling ?
yes you should get some kind of power indicated that power is on the machine i would first check the circuit breaker and then assure that you have power coming out of the outlet after which you could then use a multimeter to folow where you do have power going to sometimes it could also be a bad switch on the unit itself but first assure where you do have power going to and any further questions message me back Thanks Rick
When that happens, push the reset button to tell the motor that its ok, and reset. If you picked up a corner of carpet and lock up the brushroller, that's why that happened. Also, it could be a belt issue.
If you push the reset button and still nothing.. it's the belt. Have a look and see if it is the belt. If so, it's easy to replace the belt.. If the belt is fine, meaning it's tight and isn't wiggling around, then you most likely broke it.
