being a total beginer , how would i find my way around in bios to intergrated peripherals to check my sound.

if what your doing is trying to use an aftermarket sound card then you need to go into "device manager" and disable the intigrated sound card to eliminate conflicts. The bios will have nothing to do with sound.

You press F2 or Del on start up and then highlight advanced cmos settings, then, look for your hardware.

You can check your sound devices by clicking start>run, then type dxdiag and press enter.

Click on the sound tab and then the system will run a diagnostics of your sound card and drivers.
