Is the LED screen on the Juki HZL-G210 supposed to light up or be back lit?

Question edited for clarity, toss in CAPS and add the magic word.

I am not familiar with this particular machine, but I found references to the thread cutter. Did you try turning it off? Could the cotton thread be rotten, have you tried sewing with button thread?

Thread Trimming Function correlates with the scissors icon on the face of the machine. The G210 in unique in the fact that it has this function, which will automatically trim the thread for you, leaving virtually no mess! This one is a life saver as it relives you from having to spend time cutting and cleaning loose threads!

Hi,

please power cycle your machine and watch for the other features of the machine to activate. If this does not work, please ensure that there is no error or message showing on the sewing machine screen. Otherwise, please attempt the startup procedure used when you were first setting up your machine or if you don't have any important data saved on it, please attempt a factory reset.
