Question about Whirlpool Dryers
Push to start would not push,so dryer wouldn't start. I installed a new one thaat worked fine for one load, but the same thing happened. The thermal fue tested OK , there was not much lint buildup, and all connections are tight. I purchased another new push to start switch, but I don't want to install it until I find out if there may be something else causing the problem
You could have a worn door switch . Push in on the plastic piece which closing the door actuates and press the start botton . If it starts ,several times , then replace the door switch . Pt # 3406107 . Do this after you put the 2 thermal fuse (slim white piece with 2 wires attached )wires togather for testing purposes only . BE sure to unplug dryer before doing ANY repair testing first ! If it starts by jumping the wires , then pt # 3392519 fot thermal fuse .
