Question about Televison & Video
Very strange, sounds almost like it could be a few things. First off, you say you're using it as a monitor, you mean a PC monitor? Does the actual power to the unit go off or does the picture just go out and the lights / tv stays on?

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
