Motion Flood Lights blinking on and off repeatedly

I have motion sensor flood lights. The motion sensor is seperate from the light, so I can relocate it. Recently one of my sets of flood lights started blinking on and off without any detection. What could be doing this? Thanks.

Sounds like the relay in motion sensor. Change the bulb. Rechargeable batteries are no good after 3-4 years also.

SOURCE: we can't get the motion on our flood lights to

There are different selections on a flood light that you have to adjust. It is possible the you have it in test mode right now and when you flip the switch you are sending powering to the flood and it will stay on because it is in test mode. If it is not in test mode and you have it in the normal operation mode you may have the sensitivity set to high. If there are bushes near, running water, or anything that is moving quite a bit all the time it's going to stay on. Also, depending upon how old the flood is. It may simply need replacing. I would check the first two items and go from there. If you become completely stumped, a good electrician should be able to problem solve this very quickly. I have been on a few service calls where simply the flood was bad and needed to be replaced. I hope this helps.

Defiant flood light 180 degree led: 1. Instruction manual says to put a maximum of one such light on a wall switch. Why can I not have 2? 2.it has photo sensor in addition to a motion sensor? Thx.

Maybe two light fixtures each with photo sensors and the lights being near each other, might trigger both sensors to react to each other and turn lights on and off rapidly.

After two weeks of working perfectly, why did they start to blink and stay on all day?

Sometimes, these fixtures "forget" what they were set up to do. You may have repeat the set up procedure to retrain it. Also, I have found that power interruptions such as a tripped breaker or power surges can cause memory loss.

I have motion sensor flood lights that are not turning on. I put it on test & it does turn on. But when switched over to 1, 5 or ten minutes it won't turn on. The red light on the sensor does turn

April, you didn't mention whether you did the test at night. In addition to motion sensing, the flood light also detects darkness before allowing the bulbs to light up. If it is night, check also that some other light source is not illuminating the sensor. If so, that could fool the sensor into thinking it is daytime.

I HAVE A UTILITECH PRO 180 #0205881 AND IT BLINKS WHEN ITS ON

Usually when a motion sensor light blinks LED or otherwise it means that the motion sensor is shot. The light itself is most likely good and for whatever reason you got a bad sensor upon purchase.

Sounds like the sensor has failed. The controls are supposed to be on the underside, and kept dry.

Flood lights take a very long time to come on

Insure you are using a standard flood light on motion sensor lights and not a florescent energy efficient flood light as they take longer to reach full brightness as the bulb filiment warms up. They are better suited for constant lighting rather than intermittent purposes such as sensor lights.

Good Luck
