SOURCE: My logitech z 2300 subwoofer is not producing sound

Since this set is hardwired together and the other speakers are working, the only easy fix would be the subwoofer got turned down on the remote volume control. Anything more would mean its broken. If its under warranty take it back. If its not and you know somebody capable, you might have them check for the obvious, bad solder connections on speaker, or and open voice coil on the speaker it self.

Logitech Z-2300 subwoofer/Bass volume cannot completely shutoff

Make sure the wired remote is connected completely and if that doesn't work try putting a pillow or a pile of blankets to cover both the subwoofer driver and the air port on it and that should reduce the sound coming from it. Also if it is in a corner or on a solid floor like wood or tile i would move it to a less enclosed space with carpet or a rug. Thats all I got I hope that helps.

Hooking up a Logitech Z-2300 subwoofer to a Yamaha RX-V392 receiv

This is the exact same setup im lookng at, just a different Yamaha receiver (RX-V663). Since the 3.5mm headphone jack and and the sub preout are both 'line level' you just need to pick up a male RCA to female 3.5mm jack converter from radioshack. I'd expect it to be around $5-8.

I have already stripped my old 5.1 HTIB system rca connector to use the surround speakers with my receiver. They work but are cheap speakers. Im tempted to do something similar with the z-2300 speakers, much higher quality, but I would definitely use a converter instead of stripping to keep them backwards compatible.

maybe the first step could be checking the subwoofer's fuse.it is located over the power supply connector.
