HLS5087 DLP - Samsung Hi - on my DLP 1/3 of the screen is very dim - almost black - it's about 2 yrs old and of course out of warranty -

You probably have a bad Light Tunnel. Samsung has a Tech bulliten and recall for this defect and might pay for the repair. Call 1-800-SAMSUNG and ask for the ECR Group and explain the symptom. If they resists to pay for repair mention the recall.

It sounds like the bulb is about to fail.That is something you can replace yourself.There are many sellers on the internet or you can call 1-800-samsung.

TV screen goes black, 43 lites appear and TV shuts off after 2 to 3 hrs of operation. It will restart OK however. 56" set is 4 yrs old, orig lamp in TV


If you have never replaced the lamp it is most likely to be the problem.Most lamps last 2-3 years under normal use.

Samsung DLP white spots


Are the spots fixed or do they move with the image? Verify that all venting is clean of dust. If the spots are fixed and upon close examination are a square shape, The device is overheating of failing. If the spots are moving with image it's a front end problem, and can be overheating as well.

Black screen with a Blinking lamp in the front


Hi..if your lamp is on but no picture, then your lamp is good. Your problem is the DMD board (digital mirror display board) is bad. This is very common with Samsung DLP.
