If the ingenico is communicating with the pos system and just not reading cards, the mag stripe reader might need to be cleaned. try to clean it with a mag stripe cleaning card ( plastic/cotton card with cleaning solution ), swipe that through a couple times and run a test transaction. **folded paper towel and some rubbing alcohol works too if you don't have a card** I've cleaned alot of them that way working for a major drug store chain.
In my view I ingenico 3010 cannot be used on its own . It needs to connect through a payment terminal that is Ingenico 5100. 3010 doesnt have card swipe or insert option.
Having similiar issues with the i6780. We are experiencing high percentage of hardware attacks/loss of encryption. Talked with ingenico support, they made reference to a known board issue, but i have not been able to get any details.
Check the power adapter, sometimes they get hot and they don't supply enough power to the pin pad. Also make sure that the power cable is not loose, twisted or broken, this can also contribute to the problem.
