Acer aspire 7720g optiarc bc-5500a is not reading any blue ray discs in xp, however cd/dvd are working fine. notebooks harddisk is using s-ata, so could it be s-ata/ata issue? drivers are also hard to find and driver update for bc-5500a fails.

BlueRay discs require a BlueRay drive to be played. Will not play in a regular CD/DVD drive.

Acer aspire 6920 18.4 inch screen! I cant get blue ray dvds

According to the ACER Aspire 6920 specs, it does not have a Blue-ray player only DVD CD R/W drive. Therefore it cannot play blue-ray movie disks.
The specs of the DVD drive are as follows :-

  • CD / DVD read speed 24x (CD) / 8x (DVD±R) / 6x (DVD±R DL)

Acer Aspire 6930 won't play Blu Rays

Your DVD is not Blue Ray capable. You would need to purchase a Blue Ray DVD player for your laptop, just having the software does not allow you to read them.

I cannot use my Optiarc BDROM BC-5500a

can you see your dvd drive in bios ?
if yes, can you see your dvd drive in windows explorer ?
if you can't see it in windows explorer, it's windows issue,
either you can reload the operating system or you can edit windows registry.
if you want to edit, follow this step from microsoft (link below):
