Your updates are initially downloaded to your internal phone memory. Then, after the download, the update gets installed to wherever you have it stored on your phone. I recommend clearing your caches and history contents, and even uninstalling older updates if necessary. Also, moving as many of your apps and photos, videos, etc. to your SD card will give your phones internal memory some room to grow; but also help protect those things if your phone were to ever break.

SOURCE: I have a zte android and i have a 16gb memory card

Hi!
Try moving your applications from internal storage to memory card first. Also install some cleaners in your phone like CleanMaster which might help you in removing unwanted files, clearing cache, etc.

SOURCE: My zte quartz has 5.10 GB of free storage but when I try to download something it says "can't download due to insufficient storage

this will be due to the phone downloading to its internal memory there will hopefully be a setting in the phone to set downloads to the external memory or to move apps and files to the external memory to free up the internal memory.

My ZTE Z837VL keeps displaying the message "Storage space running out Some system functions may not work" How do I fix this?

You have too many things installed on your phone. Try uninstalling some apps (hold down on them until you see the "uninstall" icon appear on your screen), or try erasing some pictures/videos you've taken. These are the things on your phone that will take up the most space. If you still get the message, you can also try navigating you your "downloads" folder and cleaning out some of the things in there. To do so, once again just long-press on the item and select "Delete."

If you still have the "low storage space" alert, you can always purchase a MicroSD card and insert it into the proper slot on your phone. This will allow you to keep all the files/apps you currently have on your phone. I would suggest getting a minimum of 32GB, as that is a fairly standard size and should keep the average person happy for a couple of years. If you take a LOT of videos/photos, or download a lot of apps/files, you might want to opt for a 64GB to further expand your available storage space.

Best of luck, friend!

I have a ZTE Maven would like to look at some things on my SD card don't know how please help

ZTE Maven phones have an app installed on it called "File Manager". Go into this app and there should be an option to view and manage files both on your phone and your SD card. Make sure you have an app that can open whatever file you are trying to look at.

Can't download update for Farmville 2 country escape

What is the error message? Is it downloading and not installing? or is the Tab out of space on the primary storage? Usually it is a storage issue and the simple way to fix it is to move some apps to the SD card. To do that go into Settings>Application Manager. The list should start with downloaded apps. select one and when App info opens you will see a box that says "Move to SD card". Select that for each app you would like to move. This opens up space for the update to install for Farmville 2 country escape. Good luck.

I have a SamSung exhibit phone and ever i got it i haven't been able to take one picture and i can only down load 10 songs and my updates won't update because it says insufficient space. What do i do

For starters, does it have an SD card installed? You need to know how much internal storage you have as well. Your post doesn't say. If you have a lot of things already installed on the internal storage and if you have an SD card or not, IF you do, you can move applications, pictures, songs to the SD card to free up storage space. You also might want to upgrade the size of the SD CARD. 32GB or 64GB cards are coming down in price. For how to move files, pics and songs go to: www.samsung.com provides a lot of useful information. You can definitely find your step by step directions how to do that.

I have an irulu tablet. I inserted a 32gb sd card. It says it is mounted and when i try to install an app from the google play store i get the message there is insuficient space available. how do i get it...

Most apps do not natively install to an SD card when downloaded from the play store. You have to have an app like AppManager, that has a function to 'move' apps from internal storage to an SD card, or use a manual option in the Android Settings section to move each app individually.. If you are that tight on space that you cannot load any new app, you may have to delete or move something from your internal storage so you can download AppManager or some similar app, and then move as many apps as you can to your SD card. If you have a lot of photos and music you can try moving that to the SD card if your player/viewer software will allow you to find it there. Best way to move bulk items (music/photos, not apps) is to connect to a PC through USB, which brings up your internal storage and the SD card as external USB storage items. Then copy from internal storage to SD card through your PC. Best to establish folders on the SD card to hold these items and then tell your app where they are.

How do I get rid of insufficient off my nextbook

Sure you have enough internal memory? If you use an (mini / macro) SD card, you have to install different. On Android 4.x and up it must be possible to install on the SD card, but it could be you need to s something extra. If your tablet is not on 4.1 or higher, please first update the tablet, and se how to install on the external memory.

I have a Z796C ZTE phone and whenever I try to download an update or an App, I get a message that states that I have insufficient storage space available. The phone has 1.61G

Well with the information you supplied, it sounds like you have a phone full of pictures, (small files) video clips, (big files) and apps (some small, some huge) and prior to updating your phone you will need to delete enough to install your updates. The 1.61G is what? Empty storage space? Processor ? If you want more help you will have to take the time to actually give more information. Because that phone has 4 GB of built-in storage... Is it new? Is it full of pics, vids and apps or is there an out of the ordinary reason you get the message. Are you installing the app in the correct place?
