With most heaters I disconnect the pilot tubing out of the valve, and the wires after noting where they go. Then I lift the burner, or burner assemblies that the pilot assembly is attached to. Lift it in such a way that the back of the burner goes up first, then you can lift the part closest to you just enough toget it over the orifice, then move it toward the bottom and slide it out. It may take a little patience so take it slow and easy. Good Luck

What is a pilot generator

Simply put, a pilot generator is a thermopile that generates millivolt power to operate a gas valve.

However, on your convection oven, yours operates on an electronic spark, which is generated by an electronic ignition control module.

Heater will not stay lit!!!

Lets start with safety. Check your vent pipe for obstructions, mainly outside at the vent cap. The safety of this unit will not allow it to operate if there is anything blocking the vent. If all is OK, then next we will light and observe the pilot with it on the pilot setting on gas valve. The pilot flame should consume the tip of the generator point by 1/2 to 5/8". If it does not, then screw off the pilot adjust screw cover on the gas valve. This is clearly marked on the top of the valve. Inside you will have a much smaller screw. Turn it counter clockwise to raise the pilot level, clockwise to decrease. Never consume more than 5/8" of the generator tip. Hopefully your problem will be resolved here at this step. If however it is OK, then take a millivolt meter and read the generator millivolts, at the gas valve with the thermostat contacts closed. It should read 140 millivolts. You need this much power to properly operate the heater. If it is lower than 140, then replace the pilot generator....Rob Just a note...Do not remove or take apart any part of the Gas valve, other than the pilot adjust screw cover...Good Luck.

Main burner will not light. pilot has now gone out

shut off the gas at the gas **** and gas valve. the pilot tube is held in place by a 7/16 compression nut. remove it then remove the 2 screws for the thermopile "generator". follow the pilot tube and the pilot assembly should be held in by one or two screws. usually you don't have to remove the main burners. hopefully this helps

Pool heater pilot lights, goes out when heat called for

No, that would just cause you to have huge flame. There is another high pressure switch located next to the flame sensor/ pilot genator that can cause this problem it is the size of a quarter and is screwed down with 2 phillip head screws

Crosley gas dryer

the pilot should be located in close proximety to the main burner. the ignition may be one of two devices - an electronic spark type ignition or what is called a hot rail glo-bar. the flame detector has a millivolt generator which generates a 750 millivolt current after it detects the pilot flame and gives a signal to the main valve to open.
