Question about Dishwashers

BKD62ss is not desolving powder

I Have the BKD62ss and it seems that it is not useing the powder the powder catch is open the rubber seal always opens and the powder has gone solid. The dishes aren't clean? I think that it is only running cold water? does it have to be plumbed into the hot water line?

The door catch seems to have broken. Can I get

Will the door open? if so the faolt is most likley in the catch behind the front panel. This is held in by 2 screws you will need to remove the wire around the rubber seal to get to the lock, make sure you unplug it first.

Terrible odor from rubber seal around door. Don't know how to remove seal

Front loaders are known for building up mold and the smell.
It’s caused by using liquid detergent which is made from animal fat. Use powder. And use the minimum amount.
It’s caused by using fabric softener. Dilute it 50/50 with water.
It’s caused by the water remaining in the tub between washes. Leave the door open to allow it to dry. .
Pull the rubber door seal back and clean the mold off .
Affresh is recommended by some manufacturers. You run it through a wash cycle with it.

Thomo, make sure the sprayer holes in the spray arms are clean. Grains of rice seem to be a dishwashers biggest enemy as they don't desolve and eventually end up lodged in the spray holes. The holes at the end of the spray arms are the ones responsible for the washing out of the soap powder from the dispenser, if they are blocked this does not happen.
Hope this helps
Cheers
