SOURCE: 18" Electric LAWNHOG™ Mulching Mower from Black

Most likely the motor 'brushes' need to be replaced now.

These wear over time and most likely should be replaced by a professional.

Rear bag not collecting grass

Check the blade is on right side up - this is about the only thing that makes a difference - the blade - if a mulch blade may be making the cuts too small to toss them into the bag ?
Hope this helps - please vote me as helpful and leave a comment - if you need more attention I will answer back -asap - also be sure the blade isn't worn out - -

My B&D's blade cut right into the deck today, slicing the deck open and scarring the pants off me: fortunately i was not hurt! Not sure what happened: hit a bumpy patch of ground? No large rocks......

I would check to see if the blade came loose. If not you may have hit something pushing the metal in and causing the blade to hit the deck. Happens to me on my rider when I hit a root of some trees I have in my yard. The blad is up a little higher than the deck and is makes an ungodly racket!!! I usually get a adjustable wrench and bend the metal back in shape.

Why does my electric mower lose power in high grass? After waiting a few seconds &/or tilting it up, the engine revs back up and can continue to cut. It is a older model. Doesn't have a fan attacted to...

The high grass causes more drag than shorter grass. This means more friction. The tilting lessens the drag, so less friction, the speed increases. It ma need a sharpening but it sounds as though it is running correctly. As you say, it is older so you can't expect new performance. Good luck...Lee

Mower won't start

13 to 15 amps electric or battery operated mower may runs slow when cutting thick grass. also recommended not to cut grass when it's wet & need very sharp blade to do the lawn. may overloading it, cutting grass too thick also draws too much power. check house breaker first.
