Tried using the speaker jack in a different socket. Didn't work. I'm trying to figure out where I can download the driver for free. Everywhere I turn I keep finding software that costs at least $30. Do you know where I can go for a freee download?

Try using the speaker jack in a different socket.
this worked for me
This is if you are using them through a computer other than that test them through an mp3 if they work its your computer try rolling back or downloading the driver for the speakers online.

The person on the other end can't hear me unless I turn on the speaker.

You need to take your phone to a repair shop, or if it is under warranty, contact the manufacturer.

No sound at all emitted through the speakers even though i see the spectral display of sound on the desktop player indicating that music is playing.

Do your speakers require power? If so are they powered? You can tell just by hearing static/noise when you disconnect the speakers connector and plug it back in.

If they are not powered, are you sure you are plugged into the correct port on the PC? It will have 2 half circles with an arrow pointing outward.

If none of the above work, try plugging the speakers into something else to see if they work, like a CD player, or cell phone (if you have a new one with RCA output). This will check and see if the speakers are actually working or not.

No speaker sound

There sometimes are three connectors on a sound card that are similar. A speaker output, microphone input, and stereo headphone output.

Try all three, if you accidentally put it on the microphone input you won't get sound output of that one, so try another.

Also, check in the speaker control panel for the sound to be checked to mute or volume turned all the way down.

No sound.even though sound not muted

Are the speakers turned off? Some models (such as all the ones I own) have the ability to adjust the output volume even with the speakers turned off. It looks like it's doing something, but you don't hear anything unless the amp is on.
You will need to refer to your manufacturer's provided literature for more information.

When i have internation call i cannot hear him but he can hear me.

Check your headset if it is ok. Try to use your headset to listen to a regular music in your computer if you can hear something. Check also your sound setting if speaker are turn on. Or use regular speaker connected to the sound card speaker output.

Or ask him to check his/her mouthpiece if it is ok/ communicating.

System echos when dvd is in. When I mute the Bose sytem I can hear the TV sound without the echo.

The echo you hear is the audio delay between your TV speakers and Bose speakers. Muting (or lowering the volume) on the TV will eliminate the echo. Some TVs have a setting to turn of TV speakers entirely, allowing you to listen to your TVs audio strictly through your Bose system.

No more sound from speaker

I had a similar issue on mine. The easy fix was to insert a headset jack and pull it out quickly. I think something got stuck that turns off the speaker after I put the headset in the jack once. If this is the problem, I think you should also see a headset icon when making calls, even though no headset is attached.
