You probably bent it/put a dent in it. You can find a camera repair shop to fix it for you but I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself.

My brench of camara name Powershot SD1300is digital. when i turn on with my canon camara i see lens error will shut down outomatic restart camara.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

The lens gets stuck

This happen to me also. I heard a rattle before the lens got stuck. So I loosed some of the screws on the side of the camara and opened the case slowly and carefully. A small screw fell out and the camara has worked fine since (about 6 months). You may have an internal screw that is jamming the lens mechanism.

Canon camara was dropped and now it reads e18. Camara still shows pictures on the display screen

Hi

The Canon E18 error happens when the lens gets stuck while trying to extend. When your camera was dropped the lens mechanism was damaged resulting in this error for a jammed mechanism.

If the camera is still under warranty you should see if Canon are willing to repair it. If not you can view this link which is a very good walkthrough with pictures on how the error was resolved with a Canon SD300.

As you can see from this the process is intricate enough and involves opening the camera so should only be attempted if you feel confident about taking it on.

Camara not focusing/ zoom not working

Its an error code and shows problem of Lens mechanism.
Lens focus / zoom motor is stuck that's why camera gives out of focus image.
You need to replace Lens Assembly and it would cost you more then camera worth.

Lens is stuck

Try to find the part that is not straight and just pull on it a little to straighten the lens out and it should work. I did it to my camera and it works just fine now.

Lens error, restart camara issue in SD900

Hey GeorgiaPlum,
What is most likely happening is there is damage to the lens or the lens mechanism and you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I will say that digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the camera, but it can't hurt to get an estimate done. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

I dropped my camara and lens is stuck on the outside

Dear pat123456,
If you dropped your camera and now the lens won't retract back into the camera, and it won't power on it sounds like you have internal damage. You need to have it looked at by an authorized service technician.

Sincerely,
Agent Allan

A Dropped Camara. Please Read

That is what casio calls a lens error. You will have to send it in and have it fixed. The cameras don't do well even when dropped from that short distance. Call repairs at 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 1. Tell them that you talked to tech support already otherwise they will try and transfer you to their tech support.
