What is the make and model of the universal remote? They each have their own sets of codes, so there's not a code for your DVD that works with all universal remotes.

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says the setup code for a Prima TV ( without a built-in DVD or VCR) is one of the following numbers: 0761, 0783, 0815, 0817. I can not guarantee these numbers will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.
I assume your DVD has been attached separately, and not built into the TV. In some cases, you might not need an additional setup code. I finally found a code that works. Code 3144 worked. I am using the RCA universal remote control RCR412S and RCA DVD player DRC200N. The code 3144 is listed under Memorex in the code book that came with the remote control.
