SOURCE: audio output not working

I had what may have been a similar problem and even talked to Westinghouse to see what I was doing wrong. Woman suggested there was a problem with the audio output port and suggested I exchange tv for another one. When the new one had the same problem, I discovered that to get audio out requires the volume to be turned way up on the tv (set speaker preference to external only if you don't want sound from tv speakers as well). If you have a digital optical connection on both the tv and the home theater, the sound output is independent from the tv setting and is easier to work with.

You will need to get into menu and enable the external speakers. Some older TV may have a switch at the back to turn the external speakers ON.

be more specific!...how is the tv hooked up? hdmi, component, straight to the tv, or into the amp then tv?....what audio out? optical, digital? also what are you trying to view? local programming? cable/sat? dvd? your best bet is to ignore video on the amp and go straight to tv. can't help u more until i have more specifics.

If your new TV has a digital audio output, your old JVC receiver probably does not have a corresponding digital input. One or the other has to be changed. Look for an EXTERNAL AUDIO output with RCA connectors on the rear of the TV.

You online and did you receive my email concerning no sound on JVC HD 56G886, Part Number: QAS0251-001 . Ed robinson at majorchordstm@sbcglobal.net?

The fault can be confirmed only after a proper audio test is done. The unit must be opened first so that the speakers can be checked for continuity. If this is okay then feed a audio into the audio in and select the video for the auxiliary input. If there is output then the output is good and working and the fault can be with the SIF- sound intermediate frequency section. You will need to inject audio frequency so as confirm the failed section.

Hi, I hve JVC TH G30 and i have connected my DishTV receiver (not HD) to the Aux port of the device. I can get sounds only on the front left and right speakers.. Is there an option to get surround for...

This is a 2-part question. You can get ALL speakers to SIMULATE a surround experience from ANY input, even 2-channel analog.

If there is an optical digital audio output on the Dish TV receiver use THAT and the TH-G30 can decode the surround audio properly.

Read up on surround modes in the manual.

Cannot get home theatre to work with panasonic flat screen. Surround sound was working with old tv got a new one but now its not working. Do i need a different cable

your new tv probalby has an hdmi output. depeding on how old your jvc system is, iit may or may not have an hdmi input. not to worry, there should be some type of compatible output on the tv to send audio signal to the jvc. first look at the back of the jvc and see whats there. then look at the tv and you should see compatible output on tv and run proper cable to input on jvc. some auxillary audio outputs on the tv are driven by the volume of the tv itself, so make sure to turn the volume on the tv up a llittle to make sure its sending signal. you may have to go into the tv menu and turn the internal tv speakers off so you dont hear them and the jvc. its not a big deal if your hearing both, it just wont be true surrond sound. if it were mine, id turn the tv speakers off.

Sound on tv went out. model jvc hd-56g886. Checked mute buttons etc

Hello
You just hold your ears very near to the speaker side, and swich on the tv. If you hear a "thumb"; sound, the output circutary of your tv has some trouble; provided picture is Ok. If there is no "thumb sound", the speaker of your tv must be suspected.
Normally output Ic may get damaged. This will happen to most of the telivisions.

61 inch projection tv flashing on and off

The most common problem with JVC LCD rear projection TV is bulb failure. Do not panic, this is normal after 2-5 years of use.

You can change the complete assembly or for less cost just change the bulb. Do not use Osram or other funny brand "rebuilt" or locally made bulb. Use a Philips replacement and all should be good.

Changing the bulb involves removing the lamp assembly and taking it apart like a puzzle and replacing the bulb. JVC are a little more difficult to do than most others because the wires on the original bulb are molded into the glass on the original bulb. Wires must be cut and stripped of insulation before connecting to the new bulb.

All JVC LCD Rear projections TVs use TSCL110 TSCL110U TS-CL110U Lamps.

Listen to DTV DVR output on TH-C3

im not familiar with this model. can i assume it is a small home theatre system with limited inputs?
in that case, the best thing to do is to feed all your devices...cable, dvr, dvd, etc....into the tv.(audio and video). then use the audio output of the tv to the input on the receiver. you may have to go into the tv menu and set the audio output to the speakers in the tv to fixed mode for a constant level out to the receiver.
good luck
