Polaroid LCD model 3200 great picture but...

was working fine Saturday evening but come Sunday when turned on ther was no audio. signal from cable fine and all cables have had no change and definetly not on 'mute'
Can speakers be blown? Not normally played loudly though. No lightning or electrical surges, etc.
Picture is great and is approximately 1-2 years old. Purchased new.
