Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP C6180 Incessant Switching On and Off

My HP C6180 started switching on and off with an error message that says to always use the on/off button to shut down. I have wasted hours on the Hopelessly Pathetic (HP) website, erased and reloaded print drivers, reconnected cables and plugs, etc. The only way the printer will stop cycling is to pull the power plug. I have a significant investment in ink, and of course there are almost no HP printers still in production that use the 02 ink cartridges. I have researched the best replacement and now have a great CANON multifunction machine (MX860) installed and operating. The CANON is ranked 5/882 printers reviewed and #2 of all CANON printer products. Good bye HP printers; the HP computer will be next to go. Of course if anyone has a solution to my problem, I'd be glad to get the machine from my garage and try again.

The best way to deal with this issue is making sure that the printer isn't plugged to a surge protector
and performing a partial reset
you can achieve this by unplugging the power cable and pressing # and 3 and then replugging the cable and hold the # and 3 buttons until you see the lcd lit up
also try the # and 6 and then # and 9 to reset it to factory defaults if the previous doesnt work

As always I start with the dreaded question. Did you use a refilled cartridge in your printer? If so, remove it and install a new HP cartridge. Recycled cartridges are famous for this type of failure. By the way the error code is a Windows error code. If you haven't found a solution to the " ink system failure " yet, it is quite easy to reset (using the buttons) on HP C7180. You can find the reset instructions on my website: http://www.inkbank.com.au/webcontent21.htm

Hi, My HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One series printer just started to switch ON and OFF repeatedly with a warning that it should always be switched off using the ON button. I already proved that it is not...

The Ink System Failure messages on my C6180 were early symptoms that progressed continuous power cycling. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This fix stopped my printer from power cycling and also fixed the ink system failures the Printer was having.74b7f9c.jpg
I ordered parts from mouser.com, but DigiKey.com may have better prices. I ordered 3 of these and 1 of these. here is a

Hello,

Try unplugging the printer from power for about 10 minutes and then reconnect it and see if that will reset it. You mentioned the error code 83c00020 is that on the printer screen or somewhere else?
I wasn't able to find that exact error is that the way the error actually displayed?

Reply back and let me know. Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks
