Door won t close properly

Using a long screwdriver to change to position manually is the obvious solution. This tech assumes you've tried and failed.with electromagnetics involved you would need to get back in control of the moving devices. First remove the fuse that controls the door locks now try screwdriver. N/G try removing the pos+ batt lead now try manual manipulation. all else fail door panel off / eyeball what's binding up / component replacement. Hope it helps

Tip

Awkwardly situated screws

I find a bit of Blu-Tack or similar - (chewing gum works fine) placed into the slot or X of a screw (especially brass ones where a magnetic screw driver won't work) or sometimes stuck onto the end of the screwdriver, helps when re-assembling anything where it isn't possible to hold or guide the screw by other means. Furthermore if it doesn't come away with the screwdriver it's there for next time and no real loss.

I have 05 kia rio. jump started dead battery but the cables were crossed and killed it instead. purchased new battery. car stuck in park. worked when screwdriver in override button but still won'

There is a large maxi-fuse between the battery and alternator. Its at least 100 amp or more. It may be in the cable at the battery, or in one of the fuse boxes.
You may also have damaged the key switch or the brake circuit.
You may have to get a book to get the wiring diagrams to check everything involved.

Bonnet stuck down

If the inside latch won't work, you'll have to reach up from underneath the hood to pull the lever over to open. Usually a flatblade screwdriver will help. The latch lever has to move towards driver's side to open.

What do you use to remove the screws from the front panel of the Whirlpool Duet to access the drain pump? Does not take flat nor Philips screwdriver and pliers won't work.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

To remove the access panel you will need to remove three #20 torx head screws. To do so you will need a #20 torx bit or #20 torx screwdriver.

My dw056 breaks bits can you change the hammer to a 1/4" or 3/8" hammer they look the same on the manual

in order to make the 1/4" hex drive impact drive 1/4" or 3/8" sockets, you need a 1/4" hex adapter for sockets.

They are available at most hardware stores. While i've broken several sockets, and many screwdriver bits, I've never had an issue with with the socket adapters.

You can also get an adapter that gives you a chuck like a conventional drill.

If you've been working them hard, it's not a bad idea to remove them, and put them back in. this reduces the chance of getting the bit stuck from the repeated impact.

As far as changing the chuck of the unit to another one, i'm not sure if it's possible.

Someone stuck a conventional driver bit into the impact driver and it is stuck tight.

VERY GENTLY. . . . use a flat tip screw driver to try to push the collar forward so that it will release the bit. You may need to gently hold the handle of the impacter in a table vice or something like that to steady the tool, then push forward on the collar with a screwdriver and use a pair of pliers to pull outward on the bit at the same time.

Or instead of a screwdriver try vicegrips that are adjusted loose enough to just lock but not squeeze when closed. Pliers that grip too tightly may bend the collar and keep it from being able to slide forward to release bits.
