Thank you! It was the fact that we had not used it in a few weeks. I added some more water and it started right up. Thanks!

Hello this coffee maker has a one and a half gallon internal tank, could be one of a few problems, first thing to check is the spray head, unscrew this you may need some channel locks to get it off and check it..use a tooth pick to clear the 6 holes with any lime that may have formed...also if you use a commercial coffee company for your coffee they should have supplied you with a spring to clean the spray head tube. After checking these 2 items the next thing to check is there enough water in the tank..when the vpr is left on and not used for a few days the water in the tank evaporates..it takes approx two and a half pots of water to fill up the internal tank...try pouring another pot of water in...also turn machine off and take the 2 screws out of the top and see if there is lime blocking the drain hole in the fill pan. Hope this helps...please feel free to comment again if you have any other questions...Good Luck!!! Mike

I think my bunn-o-matic VPR needs cleaning and I do not have a manual for this machine. Can you advise on how to do this?

To clean the vpr you will need to take the lid off the machine. Be sure to unplug while doing this. First clean the water tray. You can unscrew the nut holding this tray and clean the tray in your sink. Put the tray back in and put the lid back on. Plug coffee maker in. Fill one coffee pot with vinegar and pour it in machine. After the water finishes coming out let the coffee maker sit overnight. Before you start filling the maker with water at least 6 times, be sure to clean the spray head. Make sure the 5 or 6 holes are free and clear of any build up. Then start with fresh water. Fill the coffee pot with fresh clean water and pour into machine. Let it finish and do this at least 6 times. If you can still taste or smell the vinegar repeat until you cant.

We have a Bunn vpr pot and we empty it in the fall and restart it in the summer. How much water needs to be added and how long do we wait until the water is ready? Also once we made a pot do we just need...

The bunn VPR is a gravity brew system what you put in if the tank is full is what you will get out. So pour water in until it flows out the sprayhead, then turn machine on, when it heats up fill up a carafe with water (1.9Liters) and put in your filter with water and brew. It is a good idea to pour water in every morning to make sure tank is full especially if you are not using brewer on the weekends.

We need to store a Bunn VPR Series coffee pot. How do I remove the water from the tank?

try hitting 'brew' until all the water evaporates, or look for a 'leak' valve to empty it. usually on the bottom or the side near the tank.

I have a VPR pourover Bunn coffee maker. I've had it many years with no problems. The cord is getting hot and popped the circuit breaker.

Most the time the plug goes bad. This is a cheap molded plug. You can pick up a new plug at the hardware store.Pick up a 120 volt standard 15 amp plug.

Bunn VPR Series Coffee Maker will NOT dispense the water into the coffee pot?

This machine has a reservoir that holds about 2.5 pots and keeps them at brewing temperature. Therefore you should pour in 3 pots (with a pot in place under the filter basket) until water flows from the basket. Then, and ONLY then, it is safe to plug in the brewer. If you plug in the brewer BEFORE filling the reservoir you will burn up the heating element and will have to have it replaced.
After the initial filling and heat up (about 20 minutes) you are ready to pour through a pot of COLD water through and brew.

Setup

No setup to it. If it is a pourover, add 3 pots of waterto the pour in funnel at the top. keep a pot under the brew funnel, The tank will hold about 2 and a half pots of water. From then on what you pour in is what will come out. If you have an automatic model, it would require a water line hook up and after 2 cycles water will frow from the brew funnel after that, let the machine heat up for 20 minutes and brew coffee like you would at home.

Poured water into a Bunn Vpr coffee maker, the coffe was cold. Why did this happen?

Possible the hi-limit turned off the heater, the thermostat is not working or the elements are damaged, or the inline thermal fuse is damaged.

Filter basket overflows after cleaning Bunn VPR Coffee Maker

Some people also try adding fresh grounds to brewed grounds, resulting in an overflow. A restricter valve can be used, but a better solution is to simply pour in half the water at a time. This is what people who buy non Bunn filters do to stop overfills.

Bunn Series VPR, pour water in, water comes out cold

Test that you have it plugged into an operating outlet.... Check that all of the switches are "on" (the warmer and the heater switches). If this doesn't help, you'll need to unplug the unit and test the switch and element for proper operation. Both can be tested for continuity. If they all test good, then I'd suspect the thermostat.
Good luck and best regards, --W/D--

Bunn's official position is that this brewer must be hooked up to a water line. The problem with using these as a pourover is the evaporation of the water. it doesn't take much of a loss of water to burn out the element in those models.
