On the bottom right side of the engine there is a throttle control with a set screw for fine tuning the voltage. Using a multi meter adjust this screw until you reach the desired voltage and then lock the set screw. One other thing a selling point mentioned is that it is a brush-less alternator, for less down time and maintenance. Good luck, Mike

How is the speed of the engine? This could affect the voltage output and will affect the frequency (Hz) output. Check the Hz with a multimeter with a Hz function for 60 Hz. That will rule out a speed problem. Then, go from there.

2000. Why do the battery and ABS lights come on suddenly?

The battery light is for the charging system , battery not being charged ! Alternator may have brushes going bad or a diode ! Or lose wiring . ABS light could be coming on because of low power (VOLTAGE) Control modules don't like low voltage . I suggest you take an have it tested !

Not charging battery alt meter reads 11.49 wont go higher

In case battery is Bad. Stop Engine
Try a substitute Battery... Just use Jumpers Cables with main battery disconnected. Restart
If no change in Voltage (should go up to 13.8 to 14Volts) then your Alternator is Bad. (Belt Not Slipping?)
The Voltage regulator is usually built into the Alternator these days. So...Remove Alternator.
Either Repair it.
Place in Vice. Mark the case next to the screws with a scratch so it lines up on re assembly. Undo screws & Separate.
Faults Usually - Brushes, Diodes or Regulator
Check Brushes are not worn down too far to make contact.
If replacing brushes you will need to make a brush hook to hold brushes back on reassembly. Look for small hole to insert brush holder until both halves are back together.
or Get a Rebuilt one with warranty.

Whirlpool wfs1276aw error F06

Drive Motor Tachometer Error
The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes.

open the machine and use a dry paint brush

give the motor a good clear off of the carbon dust spent from the brushes

you should while your there take the brushes out and check there condition is ok
they should be long ie longer than 1/2"
if not replace them

as your getting issues i would replace them

and dont forget to brush off the bad carbon dust
it gets everywhere leading to motor issues
as most sensors are low voltage leakage of current accross the dust can upset low voltage stuff easy
and also leed too your homes mains tripping etc

just from dust
i find most often brushes have some life left
but treat it too a new set
as its a bit upset by the old ones anyway
perhaps they have delaminated also

Nothing happens when the hose is connected/inserted into the wall - the main part with the motor and brush are working -brush is turning but there is no suction & no noise coming out of wall...

This will probably require a service technician. Various items could cause this.
Bad contacts on the hose. Bad contacts on the Inlet plate. Broken low voltage wire or bad connection, splice, contacts, etc...The different kits require different connections as the direct connect uses 110VAC to power the accessories and the 8ft. pigtail accessories are for all other Inlets. This could be a problem with the Vaccum unit internal low voltage component or other electrical components. A voltage meter could be used to check for voltage at the unit where the initial wires first connect to the source and tested at each Inlet as well to verify voltage is present and of proper continuity. Be advised 110VAC could cause injury or death, this should only be performed by a qualified professional.

Generac 5250 with a 8 hp Honda engine. Runs fine, no output

Take a resistance reading across the brushes with and Ohm meter. (not running) You should read a low resistance. If you have no resistance across the brushes then then either the brushes are not mating with the armature or the the armature is open.
IF you have resistance then the AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) in the endcap has failed. With the engine running and the Brush block disconnected you should have 4 - 12 VDC on the two wires going to the brush block. No voltage = bad AVR.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

MY 2001 grand caravan wont start , it only stars once in a while i think it might be the starter

before you assume that the starter motor is to blame make sure it is not the battery or connection / cables on the battery. Also, check the starter solenoid.

#1 HIT THE LIBRARY FOR A SCHEMATICL

#2 NOT A FUSE ISSUE. A FUSE EITHER WORKS OR IT DOSENT. YOU EITHER HAVE LOW VOLTAGE GOING TO THE MOTOR OR THE MOTOR ITSELF. CHECK THE VOLTAGE GOING TO THE MOTOR IF YOU HAVE BATTERY VOLTAGE CHECK THE MOTOR. PULL IT APART AND WHERE THE BRUSHES CONTACT THE INNER PART OF THE MOTOR THAT SPINS YOU WILL SEE A SERIES OF SLOTS THAT ARE RUNNING PARRALLEL TO THE SHAFT. MAKE SIRE THEY ARE NOT FULL OF RESIDUE FROM BRUSHES. CLEAN OUT THOSE SLOTS AND MAKE SURE THAT WHOLE AREA IS CLEAN. CHECK THE BRUSHES WHILE YOU ARE THERE.
