Hi

take out the cartrdiges
put them one by one, start wih putting the black and the color in their respective slots
wait for the printer to automatically print the alignment page,it might even ask you to put the alignment paper on the scanner bed to complete the alignment ,also you can print an alignment sheet from the computer by going to the prntr iconin the control panel's printer and faxes ,do a right click on the printer icon ,goto properties and click on printer preference.
and then click onmaitenance and print the alignment,i would insist on the automatic alignment

Ink cartridge will not align

Hi, My Lexmark was giving me that message, even after I aligned it twice, and wasted ink in the process (part of the reason they do it). I finally pushed the red "X" to cancel the alignment, and it still kept giving me the message. Finally, after 3 or 4 times of canceling the alignment, it gave up or fixed itself, and now doesn't give me the message. Not knowing what kind of printer you have, I can't tell you more, but hope this helps.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for using fixya.....

Both the ink and paper feed button are flashing (Epsom c66 printer)

check for a paper jam or an ink cartridge jam which was not properly aligned. usually thse are reasons. also check your ink levels and never touch the part of the ink cartridge connected to the printer. just keep pressing cancel or X, cancel the documents, then load another paper then press on start copy. this should work.

Printer keeps showing : Press enter to align cartridges. After doing this it then prints out an alignment page and shows: Alignment failed please: Press enter Alignment failed. This goes on and on. I have...

I have found that if I put in an old aligned page the printer reads it as and the alignment is accepted. As for the cancelled message being in the window, I have had this problem too. I've ignored it and selected the copy button and it took the command. The only problem with hitting cancel is that you cannot turn off your printer. Every time you do you have to repeat the aligning and cancellation process.

My HP printer PSC 1510 All-in-One no longer asks me to align my ink cartridges after a change of cartridges. Now, after a system recovery, it prints an alignment page every time I turn it on, whereas...

The only way to stop this is to press the cancel button, just as it tries to print the test page.

Various people have said the printer won't align (calibrate) successfully unless both ink cartridges are more than 50% full, and until it aligns successfully, it will continue to print the test page on start-up.

It is a total waste of ink and paper, so remember to hit the cancel button when you turn it on.

Aligning printer after new ink cartridge inserted

SOLUTION: Start the cartridge alignment by performing a series of button presses from the front panel of the product.
  • HP PSC 1200 and 1300 series:
    1. Turn on the HP PSC 1200 or 1300 series product.
    2. Disconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one.
    3. Press the sequence of front panel buttons below to start the print cartridge alignment process. The button-press sequence must be completed within ten seconds. It might take several tries to complete the sequence within ten seconds.
      1. Press and hold Cancel .
      2. While holding Cancel , press On .
      3. When the Check Paper and Check Print Cartridge lights begin to blink simultaneously, release both buttons.
      4. Press Cancel again.
      5. Press Copies .
      6. Press Paper Type .
      7. Press Color Start Copy . The alignment page will begin printing. If the alignment page does not print, repeat the button-press sequence in this step.
    4. When the alignment page has printed, place the page face down on the scanner glass and press Scan . The alignment is complete when the On light stops blinking.
    5. Reconnect the USB cable.
CAUSE: This can occur if the cartridge alignment is canceled or times out without a valid print cartridge alignment stored in memory.
