I have read other post on the same problem i am having my Philips 42PF9631D/37 will not power on the green light comes on then goes off and blinks red 5 to 7 times. Other post say to check the fuse in the power supply How do i tell if the fuse is bad.
Hey there, 6 or 7 flashes means a power faillure in them (cheap) capcitors Philips used on the plasma-chassis. Open the back of that unit en locate the Power Driver Board(it's the biggest part) than locate the two CAP's valued 3300uF 10V +105*C (they may look damaged/cracked/black stuff oozing out) Replace them with these two super CAP's(10000h): Digi-Key Part Number P13117-ND you need an steady hand on this job and the right tools, or go out to your local electronic-shop and make them do this for you. Good luck, Joe (from Holland, land of Philips...)

i am having the same problem. My Phillips 37" 37PF9431D/37I LCD High Definition TV won;t turn on. When I press the power button i hear a click and the green light comes on for a couple of seconds and then the red light appears. I can;t figure it out. Did you find a solution?
I own the same model. You have 1-2 Blown Capacitors. Take off the back cover, And look towards the center of the main power board. Look towards the center of this, and there are 2 capacitors side by side. You should see them swollen at the tops, even maybe a little black residue that has come out. I soldered on 2 new ones, and bingo! I would suggest replacing them both.
