Question about HP Pavilion dv9308nr Notebook
Computer was on. when i came back to go back on, lights were on but screen blacked out. tried to hold power down to reset. goes on, then it shuts off after a minute. if i leave it alone it keeps going on and off. the only way to stop that is to hold the power down. it was just working fine but its acting weird.
Hey i have the same laptop ( HP dv9308nr )
which i bought new from best buy. It came with MS Vista on it, which i removed and put xp on instead.
And havent had a single problem until i recently bought and installed Windows 7. did all the updates and was running smooth until i shut it down and restarted in the morning. i ran into the same problems you have, so i uninstalled all the drivers from computer management one by one. and found (for me that is) that the hp quick launch buttons driver and the Nvidia nForce Chipset driver might have been the wrong ones installed for my system (note - i installed all my drivers through MS UPDATE. so i downloaded the 2 drivers from HP.com (sp36079 and sp40139) and havent had a problem with system bootup since
hope this helps
